Upcoming in Gray Wolves Volleyball: The penultimate week of the 2018 volleyball season has arrived as Lourdes looks to maintain its lead atop the Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference.  The Gray Wolves host Madonna on Wednesday evening before heading to Grand Rapids, Mich. for the weekend to battle Cornerstone on Friday and Aquinas on Saturday.

Head Coach Greg Reitz: In his ninth season on the Lourdes bench, Greg Reitz has a 185-112 (.623) record at the helm of the Gray Wolves.  In his 10th season overall as a women's head coach, Reitz has a 203-147 (.580) career mark.  He is the only head coach in Lourdes program's history and was named WHAC Coach of the Year in 2015.

Series Notes: Lourdes and Madonna have split their 14 previous meetings 7-7 dating back to Oct. 8, 2010.  The Gray Wolves won the first meeting this season against the Crusaders in four sets on Sept. 19, the second straight win in the series for Lourdes.  The Gray Wolves won the only previous meeting inside the Ebeid Rec Center in four sets back in 2016.  Cornerstone holds an 8-7 series edge against Lourdes dating back to Oct. 8, 2011.  The Gray Wolves snapped a three-match losing skid in the series earlier this year with a five-set victory inside the Ebeid Rec Center on Sept. 28.  The Golden Eagles are 4-0 all-time against Lourdes in Grand Rapids.  Lourdes leads the series with Aquinas 3-1 dating back to Oct.  7, 2011.  The Gray Wolves have won two straight meetings after sweeping the Saints on Sept. 29 at home.  The series is tied 2-2 in games played at the Sturrus Sports & Fitness Center in Grand Rapids.

Wrapping Up Last Week: Lourdes swept Lawrence Tech on Wednesday evening in three sets, 25-16, 27-25, 25-21 at home behind 14 kills and 11 digs from both Emily Drenth and Monique Oliveira.  The Gray Wolves fell in straight sets, 25-22, 25-20, 25-19, on Friday at Siena Heights.  Tylar Roberson tallied 12 kills in the loss.  Lourdes dropped a 25-23, 25-22, 19-25, 24-26, 15-13 decision at Indiana-South Bend on Saturday despite 19 kills from Roberson.

WHAC Tournament Berth Secured: With two weeks remaining in the regular season still, Lourdes has already secured its spot in the Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference tournament.  The top eight teams in the league qualify for the postseason event, with the top four hosting quarterfinal matches.  Lourdes holds a four-match lead with five to play on fifth place for a home quarterfinal match.

Another Winning Season: With five matches remaining in the regular season, Lourdes has already assured itself of its sixth consecutive winning season, and seventh in the program's nine seasons.

Double Trouble: Lourdes has had four different players register double-doubles on the year, led by Carol Goncalves, who has 15 in the Gray Wolves' 20 matches.  Monique Oliveira has added 12 double-doubles while Tylar Roberson has notched three.  Emily Drenth has two double-doubles on the year, both coming over the last five matches.
