Upcoming in Gray Wolves Volleyball: The 2018 regular season comes to a close this week for Lourdes as the Gray Wolves play a pair of home matches. Â Lourdes welcomes Rochester (Mich.) to the Ebeid Rec Center on Wednesday night before entertaining Northwestern Ohio on Saturday for Senior Day.
Head Coach Greg Reitz: In his ninth season on the Lourdes bench,
Greg Reitz has a 185-115 (.617) record at the helm of the Gray Wolves. Â In his 10th season overall as a women's head coach, Reitz has a 203-150 (.575) career mark. Â He is the only head coach in Lourdes program's history and was named WHAC Coach of the Year in 2015.
Series Notes: Lourdes holds a 6-1 series advantage against Rochester (Mich.) dating back to Aug. 21, 2010. Â The Gray Wolves have won the last six meetings in the series after a 3-0 sweep in Rochester Hills, Mich. on Sept. 26. Â Lourdes won the only previous meeting inside the Ebeid Rec Center in four sets during the 2017 season. Â Northwestern Ohio holds an 8-6 series edge against Lourdes dating back to Oct. 2, 2010. Â The Gray Wolves have won six straight matches against the Racers after a five-set triumph on Oct. 3 in Lima, Ohio. Â Lourdes won the only previous meeting inside the Ebeid Rec Center in four sets during the 2017 campaign.
Wrapping Up Last Week: Lourdes fell at home to Madonna in straight sets 37-35, 25-23, 25-18 on Wednesday night. Â
Tylar Roberson had a team-high 14 kills while
Monique Oliveira added 13 kills and 16 digs. Â The Gray Wolves won the first two sets on Friday at Cornerstone before falling 23-25, 19-25, 25-20, 25-17, 16-14. Â Roberson had 15 kills while
Angelica Dippold had 21 digs. Â Saturday the Gray Wolves suffered a 25-15, 22-25, 21-25, 25-16, 15-10 loss at Aquinas. Â Roberson had 13 kills while
Niki Polce tallied 20 digs.
Scouting Rochester (Mich.): The Warriors have lost 17 straight matches after falling at Northwestern Ohio in four sets on Saturday. Â Laura Willson leads the team with 259 kills and 22 service aces while hitting .218. Â Jazlyn Teichow has handed out a team-high 289 assists. Â Emma Walters leads the Warriors with 303 digs while Jaelynn Block has a team-high 59 blocks.
Scouting Northwestern Ohio: The Racers have won five of their last six matches after a four-set win over Rochester (Mich.) on Saturday. Â Northwestern Ohio hosts Siena Heights on Wednesday before visiting Lourdes. Â Devan Heitkamp leads the Racers with 506 kills and is hitting .282 while Kayleigh Hulst has handed out 1,247 assists and recorded a team-high 49 service aces. Â Flavia Knutti has recorded 516 digs while Taylor Winner has 63 blocks.
Thanks Seniors: Lourdes will honor the six members of the 2018 senior class on Saturday prior to the match with Northwestern Ohio. Â

In Search of a Home WHAC Quarterfinal: Lourdes heads into the final week of the regular season needing either one victory or one loss by both Northwestern Ohio and Madonna to secure a top-four finish and host a quarterfinal match next Wednesday. Â The Gray Wolves can still mathematically share the WHAC regular season title or fall into a tie for fourth, fifth, and sixth place.
Another Winning Season: With two matches remaining in the regular season, Lourdes has already assured itself of its sixth consecutive winning season, and seventh in the program's nine seasons. Â The Gray Wolves are four victories shy of a fourth straight 20-win season and sixth in program history.
Going the Distance: Lourdes has played a school-record eight five-set matches already this season, posting a 4-4 record when going the distance. Â Three of the Gray Wolves' last four contests, and four of their last eight overall have gone five sets.
Mixing and Matching: Lourdes enters the final week of the season having used numerous lineup combinations throughout the year. Â

Niki Polce, and
Tylar Roberson are the only Gray Wolves that have appeared in all 90 sets throughout the year while
Monique Oliveira has played in 89 of the 90.
Digging Up Balls: Niki Polce has posted double figure totals in digs in all 23 matches with the Gray Wolves this season. Â The junior libero has averaged 4.32 digs per set this year, and had a season-high 29 against Cornerstone earlier this year. Â She has tallied 20 or more digs seven times.
Double Trouble: Lourdes has had six different players register double-doubles on the year, led by
Carol Goncalves, who has 16 in the Gray Wolves' 23 matches. Â
Monique Oliveira has added 14 double-doubles while
Emily Drenth and
Tylar Roberson have each notched three. Â
Jami Markus and
Sarah Wisser both picked up their first double-doubles of the year last weekend at Cornerstone and Aquinas respectively.
Among the Nation's Leaders: As a team, Lourdes is sixth in the NAIA averaging 19.39 digs per set. Â The Gray Wolves are also 23rd in assists per set, tallying 12.26, led by
Carol Goncalves, who is 39th nationally as an individual handing out 9.41 helpers per stanza. Â Lourdes is also 34th in kills per set at 12.92 while the team's .209 hitting percentage is 43rd best in the NAIA. Â
This and That: Â Lourdes has recorded more service aces (132) than errors (112) this season ...
Carol Goncalves is 44 assists shy of moving into the top-three on the school's single season assist list ... Lourdes is looking to snap a five-match losing skid, its longest since Nov. 16, 2013-Aug. 23, 2014.
