Wildcat Stadium - Sylvania, Ohio

Upcoming in Gray Wolves Soccer: Lourdes returns to Wildcat Stadium for its penultimate homestand of the season this week.  The Gray Wolves will entertain Northwestern Ohio on Wednesday afternoon before Cornerstone pays a visit to Sylvania on Saturday as part of Homecoming weekend at Lourdes.

Head Coach Jackie (Donovan) Phillips: In her fourth season on the Lourdes bench, Jackie Phillips has a 23-35-5 (.405) record at the helm of the Gray Wolves as well as overall as a head coach.  She is the only head coach in Lourdes program's history.

Series Notes: Northwestern Ohio holds a 3-0 series advantage against the Gray Wolves dating back to the initial meeting in Lima, Ohio on Oct. 14, 2015.  The Racers have won all three contests via shutout, including a 6-0 triumph in Lima last year.  UNOH won 7-0 in 2016 in the Racers' lone visit to Wildcat Stadium.  Cornerstone holds a 3-0 series edge against Lourdes dating back to Oct. 7, 2015, winning all three contests by the same 3-0 margin.  This marks the second straight season the Golden Eagles have visited Wildcat Stadium after making their maiden voyage to Sylvania in 2017.

Wrapping Up Last Week: Erin Caldwell scored on a rebound in the 34th minute and Maria Schmidt added an insurance tally 10 minutes later as the Gray Wolves defeated Cleary 2-0 on Wednesday evening for Lourdes first WHAC victory of the season.  Kiley Transit made four saves in goal to earn the shutout.  Aquinas scored the lone goal of the match with less than 20 minutes remaining on Saturday to defeat the Gray Wolves 1-0 in Grand Rapids, Mich.  The Saints outshot the Lourdes 21-0 for the day, but Transit made nine stops in net.

Scouting Northwestern Ohio: After going winless in their first four matches of the season, the Racers are 6-1-1 in their last eight contests following a 5-0 shutout at Cornerstone on Saturday.  Iris Rabot leads the Northwestern Ohio offense with 10 goals, five assists, and 25 points while Jackie Gardner has found the back of the net nine times, including three match-winners.  Luisa Herrera sports a 1.02 goals against average and a .692 save percentage in net for the Racers.

Scouting Cornerstone: The Golden Eagles have dropped five of their last six matches after suffering a 5-0 setback at home against Northwestern Ohio on Saturday.  Cornerstone heads to Siena Heights on Tuesday before visiting Lourdes.  Alexys Riksen leads the Golden Eagles with six goals and 13 points while Phoebe LaCroix has added four tallies.  Abby Workman has played the majority of the minutes in goal, and sports a 1.86 goals against average and a .683 save percentage.

A Solid Run in Goal: Kiley Transit continued her solid play between the posts for the Gray Wolves last week.  She made four saves in a shutout against Cleary, her third clean sheet of the year.  The redshirt-junior did not allow a goal until the 71st minute at Aquinas, which ended a streak of more the 206 consecutive scoreless minutes dating back to Sept. 26 at Indiana Tech.  Transit made nine saves against the Saints, a season-high.  She enters this week sporting a 1.05 goals against average and an .846 save percentage.

Caldwell Stands Out in Win over Cleary: Erin Caldwell tallied her first collegiate three-point match in the victory over Cleary last Wednesday.  The freshman scored the match-winning goal, the first of her career, when she put the Gray Wolves in front before adding her first career assist on the insurance goal.  Caldwell now has five points on the year, tied for second on the team.

Schmidt Adds Another Tally: After going scoreless in the first 25 matches of her career, Maria Schmidt found the back of the goal twice in a three-match span after scoring against Cleary last Wednesday.  The sophomore also scored at Indiana Tech on Sept. 26 after entering that match with just one assist (Aug. 30 at La Roche) to her credit in her career prior to the contest.

Poslaiko Hands Out Assists: After failing to register a point in the first 27 matches of her career, Lauren Poslaiko has handed out two assists over the last four contests for the Gray Wolves.

Scoring First Key to Success: The first goal of the match has proven to be a big one this season.  Lourdes is 4-0 when finding the back of the net before the opposition, while managing just one draw (0-6-1) when yielding the first tally of the match.

Moving Up the Record Book: Karlie O'Keefe's ranks in second place on the school's career goal-scoring list with 12 entering the week.  She is one goal behind the all-time record-holder, Clare Ciarlino, who scored 13 goals in 2016 and 2017.  O'Keefe's 25 total points rank her third all-time at Lourdes, one point behind Remy Houttekier (2015, 2017) for second place.  O'Keefe is also tied with Ciarlino for third all-time with three match-winners, one behind the school-record of four set by Jada Foster (2015-2016) and Houttekier.

Nearing the Single Season Mark Too: Karlie O'Keefe enters the week with six goals on the season, one shy of the school's single season mark.  The current record is shared by Jada Foster (2015), Clare Ciarlino (2017), and Remy Houttekier (2017).

Captains Selected: Lourdes has announced tri-captains for the 2018 season.  Kiley Transit will serve as a captain for the second consecutive season while Reagan Boice and Delaney Gravlin will serve in a leadership role for the first time with the Gray Wolves.

This and That: Helena Rammal has played in a school-record 55 career matches while Karlie O'Keefe has made a school-high 45 career starts ... the loss to Aquinas marked the first time the Gray Wolves had been shut out this season ...
