Upcoming in Gray Wolves Soccer: After finishing over .500 during the non-conference portion of the 2018 schedule, Lourdes turns its attention to Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference play. The Gray Wolves open league competition on the road Saturday at Michigan-Dearborn.
Head Coach Jackie (Donovan) Phillips: In her fourth season on the Lourdes bench,
Jackie Phillips has a 22-31-5 (.422) record at the helm of the Gray Wolves as well as overall as a head coach. She is the only head coach in Lourdes program's history.
Series Notes: Lourdes won the only previous meeting against Michigan-Dearborn, 5-0, at Wildcat Stadium on Oct. 24, 2017.
Clare Ciarlino scored twice while
Remy Houttekier added a goal and two assists for the Gray Wolves in the victory.
Kiley Transit and
Kerstyn Williams split time in goal in the shutout victory.
Wrapping Up Last Week: Lourdes opened the home slate on Tuesday evening (Sept. 11) suffering a 2-1 double-overtime loss to Huntington.
Karlie O'Keefe scored the lone goal for the Gray Wolves while
Kiley Transit made seven saves in net. The Gray Wolves closed non-league play on Saturday with a 1-0 victory over Ohio Christian.
Morghan Russell scored the match-winner with just over 20 minutes remaining while Transit made three stops to earn the clean sheet victory.
Scouting Michigan-Dearborn: The Wolverines are still looking for their first victory in program history, which began last year, but earned its first result on Sept. 1 with a 2-2 double-overtime draw against Saint Francis (Ind.). Michigan-Dearborn is coming off a 5-0 loss at Adrian last Saturday. Jenna Rogers scored both of the Wolverine goals this season. In goal, Jordan Anheuser has played all 290 minutes, and sports a 3.41 goals against average while posting a .776 save percentage.
Matching the Best Start in Program History: Lourdes has matched the best six-match start in program history with its 3-2-1 mark. The 2015 and 2017 teams both began their seasons 3-2-1 as well. In 2015, the Gray Wolves improved to 4-2-1 before their third loss while the 2017 squad started 5-2-1 before loss number three.
Lourdes in WHAC Openers: Lourdes is 2-1 all-time in Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference openers since the program began in 2015. Last season the Gray Wolves topped Rochester (Mich.) 4-1 to begin league play. Lourdes also downed Davenport on the road in 2015 while falling to the Panthers at home in 2016 to begin WHAC play.
Keeping the Sheet Clean: Lourdes' defense registered its third shutout in its first six matches of the season with the 1-0 victory over Ohio Christian. The Gray Wolves rank 24th among all NAIA schools with the three clean sheets, two of which have come from
Kiley Transit and the other from
Kerstyn Williams in goal.
Moving Up the Record Book: Karlie O'Keefe's goal against Huntington was the 11th of her career, where she ranks in second place on the school's career list. She is two goals behind the all-time record-holder,
Clare Ciarlino, who scored 13 goals in 2016 and 2017. O'Keefe's 22 total points rank her into third all-time at Lourdes. O'Keefe is also tied with Ciarlino for third all-time with three match-winners, one behind the school-record of four set by
Jada Foster (2015-2016) and Houttekier.
Russell Earns First Collegiate Match-Winner: Morghan Russell scored the lone goal of the match against Ohio Christian, giving her two tallies on the season. The goal was the freshman's first collegiate match-winner, becoming just the 11th Gray Wolf in program history to earn a match-winning goal.
A Helping Foot: Cassie Stitt handed out her team-leading second assists of the season against Huntington.
Lana Bell added her first helper of the season, and second of her career, on the match-winner against Ohio Christian.
Solid in Goal: Kiley Transit's shutout against Ohio Christian made her just the second Gray Wolf in program history to have more than one shutout in a season in program history. She now has three career clean sheets, second most in school history. This season Transit sports a 1.03 goals against average and an .861 save percentage.
Mixing Up the Lineup: Lourdes has had 16 different players earn at least two starting assignments this season.

Jules Snowden are the only five Gray Wolves to take the pitch to begin all six matches.
Lots of Bonus Soccer: Lourdes has played multiple overtime matches all four seasons since the program began in 2015. All-time Lourdes is 1-6-5 when playing more than 90 minutes.
Captains Selected: Lourdes has announced tri-captains for the 2018 season.
Kiley Transit will serve as a captain for the second consecutive season while
Reagan Boice and
Delaney Gravlin will serve in a leadership role for the first time with the Gray Wolves.
