Upcoming in Gray Wolves Soccer: Lourdes closes out the month of September with a pair of Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference contests against the Warriors. Â The Gray Wolves travel to Fort Wayne, Ind. on Wednesday night to battle Indiana Tech before welcoming Rochester (Mich.) to Wildcat Stadium for a Sunday matinee.
Head Coach Jackie (Donovan) Phillips: In her fourth season on the Lourdes bench,
Jackie Phillips has a 22-32-5 (.415) record at the helm of the Gray Wolves as well as overall as a head coach. Â She is the only head coach in Lourdes program's history.
Series Notes: Indiana Tech holds a 2-1 series edge against Lourdes dating back to Oct. 10, 2015. Â The Warriors have won the last two meetings, including a 3-2 double-overtime victory at Wildcat Stadium last season. Â Indiana Tech won the only previous meeting in Fort Wayne, Ind. during the 2016 campaign. Â Lourdes holds a 1-0-2 edge over Rochester (Mich.) in a series that began Sept. 2, 2015. Â Lourdes posted a 4-1 victory over the Warriors in Pontiac, Mich. last season. Â In the only previous game at Wildcat Stadium, the two sides played to a 1-1 draw in 2016.
Wrapping Up Last Week: Michigan-Dearborn scored with just under 10 minutes to play on Saturday afternoon to defeat the Gray Wolves 2-1 in Riverview, Mich. in the WHAC opener for both schools. Â

Scouting Indiana Tech: The Warriors have dropped five straight matches after suffering a 1-0 double-overtime loss at Aquinas on Saturday to open WHAC play. Â Kayla Saffran leads Indiana Tech with two goals on the season while Lily Rothert has a team-leading three assists and five points. Â Between the posts, Ally Zenda has played a majority of the minutes, sporting a 2.78 goals against average and a .712 save percentage.
Scouting Rochester (Mich.): The Warriors had their two-match unbeaten streak snapped on Saturday, suffering a 10-0 loss to 14th-ranked Northwestern Ohio to begin WHAC play. Â Rochester travels to Siena Heights on Wednesday before visiting Lourdes on Sunday. Â Stephanie Ramoie leads the Warriors with five goals and two assists for 12 total points while Cassidy Kowalski has five goals and a helper for 11 points. Â A trio of players have split time in goal for Rochester this season, with Hayley Rauser leading the way with a 1.75 goals against average and a .696 save percentage.
"Gold Out" Against Pediatric Cancer: Lourdes will hold their "Gold Out" Against Pediatric Cancer match on Sunday against Rochester. Â September is Childhood Cancer Awareness Month and gold is the official color of pediatric cancer. Â
Alyssa Swanson, a Lourdes senior, beat cancer at a young age, and she and the Gray Wolves want to raise awareness and funds for the cause. Â
Moving Up the Record Book: Karlie O'Keefe's goal against Michigan-Dearborn was the 12th of her career, where she ranks in second place on the school's career list. Â She is one goal behind the all-time record-holder,
Clare Ciarlino, who scored 13 goals in 2016 and 2017. Â O'Keefe's 24 total points rank her into third all-time at Lourdes, two points behind
Remy Houttekier (2015, 2017) for second place. Â O'Keefe is also tied with Ciarlino for third all-time with three match-winners, one behind the school-record of four set by
Jada Foster (2015-2016) and Houttekier.
Nearing the Single Season Mark Too: Karlie O'Keefe enters the week with six goals on the season, one shy of the school's single season mark. Â The current record is shared by
Jada Foster (2015),
Clare Ciarlino (2017), and
Remy Houttekier (2017).
Getting Defensive: As Lourdes nears the midway point of the 2018 season, the Gray Wolves defense has been solid throughout. Â Lourdes has yielded just eight goals in the first seven matches, posting a 1.09 goals against average as a team. Â The mark is ahead of the current school single season mark of 1.72 set during the inaugural 2015 season.
Getting Shots Off: Lourdes has outshot the opposition 94-91 this season, posting a higher shot total than their opponents in four of the seven contests. Â All three victories this season have come when the Gray Wolves have posted a higher shot total than the opponents.Â
Mixing Up the Lineup: Lourdes has had 16 different players earn at least two starting assignments this season. Â
