Upcoming in Gray Wolves Volleyball: After 10 days off from a season-opening sweep at the Gray Wolf Invitational, Lourdes returns to the court on Wednesday evening to close a four-match homestand. The Gray Wolves host Indiana Tech to open Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference action, the first of 20 league contests this season.

Head Coach Greg Reitz: In his eighth season on the Lourdes bench,
Greg Reitz has a 172-108 (.614) record at the helm of the Gray Wolves. In his ninth season overall as a women's head coach, Reitz has a 190-143 (.571) career mark. He is the only head coach in Lourdes program's history and was named WHAC Coach of the Year in 2015.
Series Notes: Lourdes is 7-5 all-time against Indiana Tech in a series that dates back to Oct. 1, 2010. The Gray Wolves have won six straight meetings against the Warriors, including a 3-1 victory in Fort Wayne during the 2017 season. During the win streak, Lourdes has recorded four sweeps and two four-set victories over Indiana Tech. The Gray Wolves won the only previous meeting inside the Ebeid Rec Center, in 2016, but are 4-2 all-time in home matches.
Wrapping Up Last Week (or Two Weeks Ago): Lourdes opened the 2018 season on Aug. 24 with a 25-19, 25-23, 18-25, 25-20 victory over Taylor to begin the Gray Wolf Invitational.Â
Emily Drenth tallied 18 kills while
Niki Polce tallied 23 digs in the win over the Trojans. On Aug. 25, the Gray Wolves began the day with a 25-13, 25-18, 25-14 sweep of Indiana-South Bend. Drenth and
Tylar Roberson each had 11 kills, with Roberson hitting .474. Polce and
Monique Oliveira had 11 digs each. In the weekend on finale, Lourdes earned a 25-15, 25-18, 25-11 sweep of Coastal Georgia. Drenth tallied 13 kills and hit .310 while
Carol Goncalves had 33 assists and 10 digs.
Scouting Indiana Tech: The Warriors snapped a three-match losing skid with a victory over Saint Louis Pharmacy on Saturday afternoon to conclude the IU East Red Wolves Invitational. Jordan Aylward leads Indiana Tech with 72 kills and 23 blocks on the season while Aubree Eggers is hitting a team-leading .314. Autumn Stokes has handed out 162 assists for the Warriors while Mara Zell and Madysn Cardinal have each served up eight aces. Defensively, Madeline MacDonald has tallied a team-high 145 digs.
Lourdes in WHAC Openers: Lourdes is 3-4 all-time in Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference openers. The Gray Wolves had their streak of three consecutive home openers snapped last season with a straight sets loss at Siena Heights. Lourdes last opened WHAC play at home in 2016, sweeping the Saints in the first match ever played inside the Russell J. Ebeid Recreation Center.
Picking Up Double-Doubles: Carol Goncalves and
Monique Oliveira each registered double-doubles in the opening weekend after playing as teammates at Barton Community College together prior to coming to Lourdes this season. Goncalves recorded a pair of double-doubles, handing out 37 assists and 14 digs against Taylor before adding 33 helpers and 10 digs versus Coastal Georgia. Oliveira also had a double-double against Coastal Georgia with her 10-kill, 14-dig effort.
Serving Up Aces: Lourdes tallied 21 service aces in the first three matches of the season while committing just nine total service errors. The Gray Wolves had 10 aces against Indiana-South Bend and went the entire Coastal Georgia match without a service miscue.Â
Monique Oliveira leads the way with six aces already this year while
Carol Goncalves and
Angelica Dippold each have five.
Making an Impact Immediately: Niki Polce arrived on campus as a transfer prior to the season and stepped into the libero role in match number one as a Gray Wolf. In the opening weekend she tallied 48 total digs (4.8/set), including 23 in her Lourdes debut in the four-set victory over Taylor.
Setting a Solid Block: Evan Matheson and
Emily Drenth made a difference for the Gray Wolves at the net as Lourdes outblocked their opponents 24-17 in the first weekend. Matheson, who entered the season with 16 career rejections in her first three seasons, tallied 14 on the weekend, including seven against Coastal Georgia. Drenth was involved in 11 blocks, recording at least three in every match.
Making Their Lourdes Debuts: Five of Lourdes nine newcomers saw the court during the first weekend of competition. Transfers

Carol Goncalves,
Emily Drenth, and
Monique Oliveira saw their first action in a Gray Wolf uniform while
Alli Plasencio saw her first collegiate action as a freshman.

In the Record Books: Lourdes has several players who rank among the top-10 all-time in program history in various statistical categories.Â
Angelica Dippold is second all-time with 1,02 career digs and is sixth all-time with 242 sets played.Â
Emily Arnold is currently tied for second in school history with a .267 career hitting percentage and ranks third with 158 total blocks.Â
Jami Markus is fifth with 844 career assists while
Sarah Wisser is eighth in the same category with 275 helpers.

Tylar Roberson had double figure kills in every match of opening weekend ... Lourdes has limited the opposition to just .100 hitting this season ...
