Lourdes fired an opening round 388 on Thursday to begin play in the final Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference jamboree of the year, and is in ninth place midway through play at Northville Hills Golf Club in Northville, Mich.

The Gray Wolves are just two shots behind eighth place Cleary and eight strokes behind seventh place Siena Heights heading into the final round of play. Lourdes holds a 24 shot edge over 10
th place Michigan-Dearborn. Indiana Tech leads the field after carding an opening round 308 while Northwestern Ohio is second, 17 strokes behind the Warriors.

"The course played tough, but we gave away a lot of shots due to penalties and short game mistakes," head coach
Gil Guerrero said after the round. "We have to put more emphasis on alignment and feel tomorrow. I am confident that our ladies will respond with a better effort tomorrow."

Makenzie Fannin (Centerburg, Ohio/Centerburg H.S.) led the Gay Wolves with a round of 93 while
Skyler Henry (Swartz Creek, Mich./Swartz Creek H.S.) and
Tina Kindler (Fort Wayne, Ind./Carroll H.S.) each posted 94s of the 5,845-yard, par-72 layout.Â
Jordan Bucher (North Baltimore, Ohio/North Baltimore H.S.) rounded out the scoring, shooting a round of 107.Â
Jenne' Venier (Pemberville, Ohio/Eastwood H.S.) added a 109 to complete the Lourdes lineup.

Indiana Tech's Carissa Graft is the overnight leader after posting a one-over par round of 73, and holds a two-stroke advantage over teammate Vicky Raffle.

Lourdes will wrap up the final WHAC jamboree of the season on Friday morning, returning to Northville Hills Golf Club for a 9:30 a.m. shotgun start.
