Upcoming in Gray Wolves Volleyball: The 2019 volleyball season is nearing the home stretch as Lourdes has three matches in the year's penultimate week. Â The Gray Wolves travel to Madonna on Wednesday evening before closing out the home portion of the schedule on Homecoming weekend, hosting Cornerstone on Friday and Aquinas on Saturday for Senior Day.
Head Coach Greg Reitz: In his 10th season on the Lourdes bench,
Greg Reitz has a 194-130 (.599) record at the helm of the Gray Wolves. Â In his 11th season overall as a women's head coach, Reitz has a 214-166 (.563) career mark. Â He is the only head coach in Lourdes program's history and was named WHAC Coach of the Year in 2015.
Series Notes: Madonna holds a slim 9-8 series edge against Lourdes in a series that began Oct. 8, 2010. Â The Gray Wolves won the first meeting this year between the two schools in straight sets on Sept. 25 inside the Ebeid Rec Center. Â The Crusaders hold a 5-3 series advantage in matches played at The Activities Center. Â Cornerstone is 10-7 all-time against Lourdes dating back to Oct. 8, 2011. Â The Golden Eagles won the last meeting between the two schools in four sets in Grand Rapids, Mich. on Oct. 4. Â Lourdes is 3-1 against Cornerstone inside the Ebeid Rec Center and 5-3 all-time in home matches. Â Aquinas holds an 8-7 series advantage dating back to Oct. 7, 2011. Â The Saints won the year's first meeting in straight sets on Oct. 5 in Grand Rapids, Mich. Â Lourdes is 4-0 against Aquinas in the Ebeid Rec Center and 5-3 all-time in home matches.
Wrapping Up Last Week: Lourdes fell to 23rd-ranked Lawrence Tech 25-15, 30-28, 25-27, 25-8 on Wednesday in Southfield, Mich. Â
Emily Drenth led the Gray Wolves with 10 kills while
Alli Plasencio and
Angelica Dippold had 20 digs each. Â On Friday, Siena Heights downed Lourdes 23-25, 25-22, 27-25, 14-25, 15-10 inside the Ebeid Rec Center. Â
Kennedy Ames had 17 kills while Plasencio tallied 25 digs in the setback.
Scouting Madonna: The Crusaders had their five-match winning streak snapped on Saturday with a four-set loss at Indiana Tech. Â Jodie Kelly leads Madonna with 500 kills and is hitting .269 while Betsy Cook has a team-high 681 assists. Â Olivia Sweeney has tallied 47 service aces. Â Defensively, Sweeney leads the Crusaders with 443 digs while DJ Sargent has 92 blocks.
Scouting Cornerstone: The Golden Eagles have dropped eight of their last night matches after falling in straight sets to Lawrence Tech on Saturday. Â Cornerstone travels to Michigan-Dearborn on Wednesday before visiting Lourdes. Â Bailey Cummings leads the team with 276 kills and 31 service aces while Kayla Clark has handed out 1,025 assists. Â Patsy Morris has tallied 555 digs while Brooke Nicholson has tallied 96 blocks.
Scouting Aquinas: The Saints snapped a two-match losing skid on Saturday with a straight sets win over Rochester (Mich.). Â Aquinas hosts Concordia (Mich.) on Wednesday and visits Siena Heights on Friday before heading to Lourdes. Â Kylie Christensen leads Aquinas with 254 kills and is hitting .326 while Kali Crawford has handed out 866 assists. Â Payton Klein and Karly Morris both have a team-high 23 service aces. Â Defensively, Morris leads the Saints with 449 digs while Klein has a team-high 85 blocks.
Thanks Seniors: Lourdes will honor the two members of its 2019 senior class prior to Saturday's match against Aquinas. Â

Sarah Wisser with both be recognized for their accomplishments over the past few seasons.
Closing in on a WHAC Tournament Berth: Lourdes needs just one victory or one loss by Concordia (Mich.) to secure a berth in the WHAC tournament which begins on Nov. 13. Â The Gray Wolves have participated in every WHAC tournament since joining the league prior to the 2011 season. Â The Gray Wolves mathematically can finish as high as third in the standings but enter the weekend in seventh place, just one-half game behind Cornerstone for sixth.
Among the Nation's Leaders: Lourdes ranks among the NAIA leaders as a team in both digs per set and assists per set this year. Â The Gray Wolves are 37th nationally in digs per set, tallying 18.17 while handing out 11.51 assists per set, a mark that ranks 50th in the country.
Digging Balls: Angelica Dippold is second on the school's career digs list with 1,551, trailing just record-holder
Michi Jimenez's (2012-2015) total of 2,143 digs. Â
Alli Plasencio has jumped into eighth place on the career charts with 565 digs in two seasons, and is just 28 behind
Stephanie Ruffing (2015-2016) for seventh all-time.
Dippold Third All-Time in Aces: Angelica Dippold continues to move up the career list in service aces. Â The senior has moved into third place all-time at Lourdes with 86 service aces. Â She is 18 aces behind
Stef Comte (2013-2016) for second place.
On the Assist List: Both
Yasmin Assis and
Sarah Wisser rank among the top-10 all-time at Lourdes in assists. Â Assis is ninth with 379 helpers while Wisser is 10th with 335 career assists.
This and That: Kylie McBride and
Alli Plasencio are the only Gray Wolves to appear in all 63 sets this season ... the loss to Siena Heights was the first time the Gray Wolves fell in a match when hitting a better percentage than their opponents this year.
