Upcoming in Gray Wolves Soccer: Lourdes University opens its fifth season of women's soccer on Saturday evening as the Gray Wolves host Taylor at Wildcat Stadium. Â The match is the first of four consecutive home contests for the Gray Wolves to begin this season.
Head Coach Jackie (Donovan) Phillips: In her fifth season on the Lourdes bench,
Jackie Phillips has a 23-40-6 (.377) record at the helm of the Gray Wolves as well as overall as a head coach. Â She is the only head coach in Lourdes program's history.
Series Notes: Lourdes and Taylor are meeting for the fifth time on Saturday evening dating back to Sept. 19, 2015, with the Gray Wolves still looking for their first victory against the Trojans. Â Taylor improved to 4-0 all-time against Lourdes with a 3-1 victory over the Gray Wolves last season. Â The Trojans have won both previous meetings at Wildcat Stadium, with Taylor's last visit to Sylvania coming in 2017.
Wrapping Up 2018: Lourdes finished the 2018 season with an 4-11-2 record overall. Â The Gray Wolves finished in a tie for 11th place in the Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference with a 1-9-1 mark. Â Lourdes failed to qualify for the WHAC tournament.
Scouting Taylor: The Trojans opened their 2019 season on Wednesday with a 4-0 victory on the road at Asbury. Â Ali Clodgo scored twice while Victoria Hilse and Erin Teevans added goals for Taylor in the win. Â Teevans also had the Trojans' lone assist. Â Megan Williams and Lauren Cammarano split time in goal for the shutout, but neither goalkeeper was forced to make a save. Â Taylor finished 2018 with a 12-4-4 record overall and a 4-3-2 mark in the Crossroads League.
Lourdes in Season Openers: Lourdes is 2-1-1 all-time in season openers after defeating La Roche 4-0 on the road to begin the 2018 campaign.  The Gray Wolves are 1-1 when beginning in the season at home, but have not played a  season opener at Wildcat Stadium since 2017, a 6-0 setback to Taylor.
2018 Award Winners: Erin Caldwell was named to the Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference All-Newcomer Team last season while
Kiley Transit earned WHAC Defensive Player of the Week honors. Â

Gray Wolves at Home: Lourdes is 2-2 all-time in home openers, but the Gray Wolves have dropped two straight after falling to Huntington 2-1 in double-overtime in the first home match of the 2018 season. Â All-time, Lourdes sports a 15-17-3 record at Wildcat Stadium through four seasons.
Top Returning Scorers: Lourdes returns its top three scorers from 2018, led by
Karlie O'Keefe. Â The senior found the back of the net six times one season ago, one shy of the school's single season record. Â
Erin Caldwell added three goals for the Gray Wolves in her rookie season while
Maria Schmidt scored twice in 2018.
Williams Returns in Net: Kerstyn Williams returns for her junior season in goal for the Gray Wolves. Â Through 19 career appearances between the posts, the 2017 WHAC All-Newcomer Team honoree sports a 1.64 career goals against average and a .814 career save percentage while notching two shutouts.
Record-Tying Home Stand: Lourdes opens the 2019 season with four consecutive home matches, tying the longest homestand in program history. Â They Gray Wolves were also home for four straight contests Sept. 9-20, 2017, when the team posted a 3-0-1 record during the stretch.
Experience Returning: Karlie O'Keefe begins her senior season as the school's career record holder having made 51 career starts. Â Her 51 all-time matches played ranks third in program history. Â In addition,
Lauren Poslaiko is tied for seventh all-time having stepped onto the field 37 times entering the season.
In the Record Book: Karlie O'Keefe's 12 career goals rank her second on the school's career list, one behind Clare Ciarlino's (2016-2017) all-time mark of 13. Â O'Keefe's 25 total points are third most all-time while her three match-winning goals are tied for third as well. Â O'Keefe ranks second on the all-time shots chart with 81 career attempts.
Lots of New Faces: Of the 29 players on this year's roster, Lourdes has 13 newcomers, 12 of which are freshmen. Â
Katie Varney is the lone transfer in this year's incoming class, and is entering her junior season after playing two years at Davenport University.
This and That: Lourdes is 12-12-4 all-time in non-conference matches ... the Gray Wolves have never played a neutral site match in program history ... 47 different players have stepped onto the field through the program's first four seasons.
