Scouting Point Park: The Pioneers opened their season on Tuesday evening, suffering an 8-0 setback on the road at fourth-ranked Spring Arbor.  Ashtyn Webb made nine saves in goal for Point Park in the setback while Nola McGuire had the only shot attempt for the offense.

Scouting Rio Grande: The Red Storm are still looking for their first victory of the season after falling 5-0 at Indiana Wesleyan last Saturday.  Rio Grande travels to Lawrence Tech on Friday before visiting Lourdes.  Offensively, Ambar Torres has seven of the Red Storm's 13 total shot attempts.  In goal, Jayla Brown has played more than 115 minutes, and sports a 4.68 goals against average and a .647, making 11 total saves.  Emily Hoffman has tallied a 6.98 GAA and a .545 save percentage in just under 65 minutes of work.

Varney Tallies First Goal as a Gray Wolf: Katie Varney found the back of the net in her Lourdes debut against Taylor just 7:54 into the contest.  The junior transfer from Davenport was no stranger to scoring though, as she tallied three goals as a freshman and another as a sophomore for the Panthers.

Newcomers Not Afraid to Shoot: Lourdes tallied nine total shot attempts in the season opener against the Trojans, with eight of them coming from newcomers.  Abigail Mann led the Gray Wolves with three total shots while Katie Varney had two more.  Skyler Crane, Elaina Hillman, and Morgan Henkle all attempted shots in their collegiate debuts as well.  The only returnee with a shot attempt for Lourdes against Taylor was Erin Caldwell.

Making the Stops: Kerstyn Williams made eight saves for the Gray Wolves to open the season against Taylor last Saturday, the most stops she has made in a contest since registering 10 against Concordia (Mich.) on Oct. 28, 2017.  The eight saves are tied for the third most in a match in Williams' career.

Record-Tying Home Stand: Lourdes opens the 2019 season with four consecutive home matches, tying the longest homestand in program history.  They Gray Wolves were also home for four straight contests Sept. 9-20, 2017, when the team posted a 3-0-1 record during the stretch.
