Upcoming in Gray Wolves Volleyball: The longest homestand of the 2019 season arrives for Lourdes this week as the Gray Wolves return to the Russell J. Ebeid Recreation Center for their next four contests.  Lourdes entertains Lawrence Tech on Wednesday, Michigan-Dearborn on Friday, and Concordia (Mich.) on Saturday as Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference play gets in full swing.

Head Coach Greg Reitz: In his 10th season on the Lourdes bench, Greg Reitz has a 187-122 (.605) record at the helm of the Gray Wolves.  In his 11th season overall as a women's head coach, Reitz has a 207-157 (.569) career mark.  He is the only head coach in Lourdes program's history and was named WHAC Coach of the Year in 2015.

Series Notes: Lourdes and Lawrence Tech are meeting for the 17th time dating back to Sept. 17, 2011, with the Gray Wolves holding a 15-1 series advantage.  The Blue Devils won for the first time in the series last season in Southfield, Mich. in five sets before Lourdes rebounded with a straight sets win inside the Ebeid Rec Center.  Lourdes is 2-0 against Lawrence Tech inside the Ebeid Rec Center and 8-0 all-time at home.  Lourdes holds a 12-2 advantage against Michigan-Dearborn dating back to Aug. 28, 2010 and has won 11 straight meetings between the two schools.  Last year the Gray Wolves won in four sets in Dearborn, Mich. and in three sets at home.  Lourdes is 6-0 all-time at home against Michigan-Dearborn and 2-0 inside the Ebeid Rec Center.  The Gray Wolves hold a 15-1 all-time edge against Concordia (Mich.) dating back to Aug. 20, 2010 and have won 13 straight meetings.  The last eight contests have been 3-0 sweeps, including a pair last year.  Lourdes is 3-0 inside the Ebeid Rec Center and 8-0 all-time at home against the Cardinals.

Wrapping Up Last Week: Lourdes opened WHAC play with a five-setter at Indiana Tech on Wednesday before falling 25-15, 19-25, 25-22, 22-25, 15-11.  Allie Hale led the Gray Wolves with 16 kills while Angelica Dippold had 22 digs.

Going the Distance: After playing a school record eight five-set matches during the 2018 season, the Gray Wolves have already played a pair of contests that have gone the distance in their first eight matches of 2019.  Lourdes went 4-4 in such contests one year ago and is 1-1 to start this season.

Racking Up the Kills: After recording just three double figure kill totals in her first two seasons, Allie Hale has notched five matches with 10 or more kills in her last six outings.  She tied the school's single match record with 24 against Shawnee State, the start of four straight double figure contests.  Hale had 16 kills at Indiana Tech last Wednesday.

Keeping Balls off the Floor: Angelica Dippold had just 11 digs in the first four matches of the season, but has registered 99 over the last four contests, including three matches with at least 22 digs.  Dippold set the single match record with 40 against Shawnee State and had 22 last time out at Indiana Tech.

Starting Slowly: Lourdes has only won the opening set of the match once through eight contests thus far this season.  The Gray Wolves took the opening set from Shawnee State on Sept. 6, 25-21.

In the Record Books: Lourdes has several players who rank among the top-10 all-time in program history in various statistical categories.  Angelica Dippold is second all-time with 1,407 career digs.  She is also sixth in matches played (94) and fifth in sets played (330).  Sarah Wisser is ranked ninth all-time with 329 career assists.
