Lourdes returned to the courts on Saturday as the Gray Wolves suffered a 7-0 defeat at the hands of Midway and 6-1 setback to Georgetown (Ky.) in Kentucky.

The Gray Wolves opened the day at the Post Tennis Complex in Midway, Ky., falling to the Eagles.Â
Kylie Krupp (Sylvania, Ohio/Central Catholic H.S.) and
Niki Polce (New Boston, Mich./Huron H.S.) had the tightest doubles contest of the morning, falling 6-4 at the second spot.

In singles,
Annsley Mann (Sylvania, Ohio/Southview H.S.) forced a match tie-break at the top spot before falling 6-2, 6-7, 1-0 (5).Â
Vanessa Skouroukos (Toledo, Ohio/Waite H.S.) made her collegiate debut at number two singles, dropping a tight 6-4, 7-5 match. Krupp had a close first set at third singles before falling 7-5, 6-0.

In the afternoon against Georgetown at the Lackey Tennis Center in Georgetown, Ky., the Tigers swept the doubles point to begin action.

Polce earned a victory for the Gray Wolves at fourth singles, posting a 6-4, 6-1 triumph for Lourdes' lone point. Skouroukos had a close match at the second spot before falling 7-5, 6-1.

Lourdes (0-5) will close out the fall portion of its schedule next Saturday, Sept. 28, when the Gray Wolves travel to Ashland. First serve is set for 3 p.m. at the Karl Tennis Complex in Ashland, Ohio.
