Final Results

Playing its first match in program history on Friday afternoon, the Lourdes men's tennis team suffered a 5-2 setback to Mount Vernon Nazarene at Ramser Tennis Courts in Mount Vernon, Ohio.
 
The Gray Wolves scored their first doubles victory at the top spot, as Niladri Aich (Cooch Behar, India/Maumee Valley Country Day [Ohio] H.S.) and Ulises Barradas (Nueva Esparta, Venezuela/UE Colegio Madre Guadelupe H.S.) teamed for a 6-4 triumph.  The Cougars won the other two doubles spots by default though to take the opening point.
 
Aich earned a singles victory at the second spot as well, scoring a 6-4, 6-3 victory.  Dominick Brock (Grant, Mich./Grant H.S.) added a win for Lourdes at third singles by a 2-6, 6-1, 10-5 margin.  Barradas forced a match tie-break at first singles before falling 6-4, 5-7, 12-10.  Mount Vernon Nazarene (2-8) won fourth through sixth singles by default.
 
Lourdes (0-1) will now wait through the winter before returning to action in the spring.  The Gray Wolves will also contest their Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference portion of the schedule at that time as well.
