Senior Night Wednesday Highlights The Week Ahead for Women's Volleyball

Upcoming in Gray Wolves Volleyball: An 11-day stretch to conclude the regular season in which Lourdes will play five matches has arrived for the Gray Wolves.  Lourdes begins the stretch run on Wednesday evening against Lawrence Tech for Senior night before heading to Concordia (Mich.) on Saturday.  The Gray Wolves then travel to Rochester (Mich.) Monday night for a make-up contest.

Head Coach Greg Reitz: In his 12th season on the Lourdes bench, Greg Reitz has a 212-161 (.568) record at the helm of the Gray Wolves.  In his 14th season overall as a women's head coach, Reitz has a 232-196 (.542) career mark.  He is the only head coach in Lourdes program's history and was named WHAC Coach of the Year in 2015.

Series Notes: Lourdes is 16-4 all-time against Lawrence Tech in a series that began Sept. 17, 2011.  The Gray Wolves snapped the Blue Devils' three-match win streak in the series with a five-set victory in Southfield, Mich. on Sept. 29.  Lourdes is 2-1 against Lawrence Tech in the Ebeid Rec Center.  The Gray Wolves hold a 17-4 series advantage against Concordia (Mich.) dating back to Aug. 20, 2010.  The Cardinals have won the last three meetings between the two schools after a straight sets victory on Oct. 1 inside the Ebeid Rec Center.  Lourdes holds an 8-2 series edge in Ann Arbor, Mich.  Lourdes holds a 10-2 all-time edge over Rochester (Mich.) in a series that began Aug. 21, 2010.  The two schools split last year's contests, with the Gray Wolves winning in Rochester Hills, Mich. 3-0 and the Warriors winning in the Ebeid Rec Center in five sets.  Lourdes is 5-0 all-time in Rochester Hills, Mich.

Wrapping Up Last Week: Lourdes took the opening set from Siena Heights on Wednesday evening before suffering an 18-25, 25-20, 25-19, 25-21 setback to the Saints at home.  Abby Gentile paced the Gray Wolves with 16 kills and 10 digs while Alli Plasencio added a match-high 30 digs.  On Friday, Aquinas defeated Lourdes 25-14, 25-23, 21-25, 25-23 in Grand Rapids, Mich.  McKenna Hall had 12 kills while Katey Stakolich handed out 37 assists and recorded 19 digs.  The Gray Wolves remained in Grand Rapids on Saturday, suffering a 23-25, 25-18, 25-23, 25-17 defeat across town at Cornerstone.  Kortney Ellison put down a team-high 12 kills while Plasencio recorded 23 digs.

Scouting Lawrence Tech: The Blue Devils snapped a four-match losing skid on Saturday with a four-set victory over Northwestern Ohio.  Lindsay Hubler leads Lawrence Tech with 210 kills while Nicole Whan has handed out 337 assists.  Shelby Rasch leads the Blue Devils with 14 service aces.  Defensively, Hubler has a team-high 173 digs while Ellery Cure has 42 blocks.

Scouting Concordia (Mich.): The Cardinals enter the week having dropped back-to-back matches after falling at Michigan-Dearborn in four sets on Saturday.  Concordia faces Indiana Tech and Siena Heights before battling the Gray Wolves.  Kayla Peters has a team-leading 297 kills while Abigail Austin has handed out 853 assists.  Breann June leads the team with 31 aces.  On defense, McKenzie Peters has tallied 440 digs while Kaitlin Veihl has 52 blocks.

Scouting Rochester (Mich.): The Warriors begin the week having lost three straight after a straight sets setback at Siena Heights on Monday.  Rochester faces the Saints against on Wednesday, plays Cornerstone twice on Friday, and visits Aquinas on Saturday before hosting the Gray Wolves.  Taylor Butkiewicz leads Rochester with 299 kills while Autumn Deshetsky has handed out 452 assists.  Carly Rodman leads the Warriors with 30 aces.  Rodman is also the team's dig leader with 39 while Olivia Pannecouk has recorded 54 blocks.

Thanks Seniors: Lourdes will honor the five members of its 2021 on Wednesday.  Yasmin Assis, Rafa Borges, Michaela Eisenhauer, Alli Plasencio, and Vanessa Villarreal will be recognized for their contributions to the program prior to the match with Lawrence Tech.

Doubling Up: Katey Stakolich has recorded 10 double-doubles on the season for the Gray Wolves, including all three matches last weekend.  In fact, she has five double-doubles in her last seven contests.  As a team, Lourdes has had 22 double-doubles this season, with Abby Gentile, McKenna Hall, and Kylee McBride each recording three.

On the Block: Michaela Eisenhauer and Cammy Smith rank sixth and seventh respectively on the school's career blocks list.  Eisenhauer has 123 rejections and Smith has 122 blocks.  Stephanie Richards (2013-2016) is fifth on the all-time list with 124 blocks.

Plasencio All Over the Record Books: Alli Plasencio enters the week ranked third in program history with 1,418 career digs.  She is 187 behind Angelica Dippold (2016-2019) for second all-time.  Plasencio also is fourth on the career ace charts with 88, five behind Dippold for third.  Plasencio ranks fifth in school history having appeared in 358 sets all-time, 21 behind Lexie Curtis' (2013-2016) fourth place total.  Plasencio is also seventh all-time at Lourdes having appeared in 98 career matches, four fewer than Stephanie Richards (2013-2016) for sixth.

This and That: Alli Plasencio is the only Gray Wolf to play all 88 sets this season ... the Rochester match on Monday is a make up of a postponement from Oct. 6 ... Lourdes has more service aces (151) than service errors (144) this season.
