The Gray Wolves earned their first victory ever against the Saints earlier this season on Sept. 25, defeating Siena Heights 1-0 on the road in the WHAC opener. The Saints hold a 3-1 series edge all-time at O'Laughlin Stadium. The Gray Wolves enter the tournament as their highest seed, fifth, in program history, and have never hosted a tournament match.
Best Season Ever: The fifth place finish in the WHAC regular season is the best ever for the Lourdes women's soccer program. The previous best finish was a tie for sixth place in the inaugural 2015 campaign. Lourdes has also tied a school record with eight victories this year, matching the 2015, 2017, and 2019 teams.
First Winning Record Ever Secured: Lourdes has assured itself of finishing over .500 for the first time in program history. The Gray Wolves finished the season at .500 (8-8-2) in 2017, but have never concluded the year with a winning record prior to this season.
Mann Holds All School Scoring Marks: Abigail Mann has broken all of Lourdes University's career scoring records this year. She has set the Lourdes school record with 16 career goals as well as the points mark with 42. In addition, her 10th career assist on Saturday at Cornerstone broke a tie with Tori Koontz (2016-2017) for the school record, giving her the mark outright.
Match Winners: Chloe Shaffer tallied her third match-winning goal of the season on Wednesday against Concordia (Mich.). The tally gives her five career match-winners, tying her with Karlie O'Keefe (2016-2019) and teammate
Abigail Mann for most in program history.
The Scoring Race: Chloe Shaffer took over the team's goal scoring lead entering the WHAC tournament with her seventh goal of the year in the regular season finale at Cornerstone.

Lots of Extra Soccer: Lourdes entered the 2021 season having played 16 overtime matches in the program's first six seasons. The Gray Wolves have already gone beyond regulation seven times this year. The Gray Wolves should have played an eighth overtime contest as well, but the match against Huntington was called a draw after regulation due to thunderstorms. Lourdes had six previous ties entering this year and has now doubled that mark in just one season.
Stingy Defense: Lourdes has yielded just 15 goals in 1,741 minutes of action this season, a goals against average of 0.78. The Gray Wolves have seven shutouts to their credit on the season, breaking the school's single season record of six previously set in 2015 and equalled again in 2017. Lourdes is also looking to break the 2018 team's goals against average for a season, after finishing that year with a 1.52 GAA.
Surprising the Prognosticators: The Gray Wolves finished 2021 well above their predicted finish in the preseason poll conducted of the league's head coaches where Lourdes was tabbed to finish ninth. Aquinas was chosen to win the league crown and did capture the regular season title.
