Upcoming in Gray Wolves Volleyball: The 2021 women's volleyball regular season comes to a close for Lourdes this week as the Gray Wolves play their final two matches.  The road slate concludes on Wednesday at Northwestern Ohio before Lourdes entertains Rochester (Mich.) on Saturday as part of Homecoming weekend on campus.

Series Notes: Lourdes and Northwestern Ohio have split their 20 previous matches 10-10 dating back to Oct. 2, 2010.  The Gray Wolves won the first meeting between the two schools this season in straight sets on Sept. 22 for their fourth consecutive victory in the series.  Lourdes holds a 5-3 series edge in matches played in Lima, Ohio.  Lourdes holds an 11-2 all-time edge over Rochester (Mich.) in a series that began Aug. 21, 2010.  The Gray Wolves won the first meeting of the year between the two schools on Monday (Nov. 1) in Rochester  Hills, Mich. in four sets.  Lourdes is 3-1 against Rochester inside the Ebeid Rec Center.

Wrapping Up Last Week: Lourdes cruised to a straight sets victory over Lawrence Tech on Wednesday evening 29-19, 25-21, 25-17 at home for Senior Night.  Vanessa Villarreal put down 12 kills and hit .500 while Alli Plasencio tallied 18 digs.  The Gray Wolves won the first two sets and had three match points in the third on Saturday before Concordia (Mich.) battled back for a 21-25, 25-27, 28-26, 25-17, 15-12 victory in Ann Arbor, Mich.  Abby Gentile had a team-high 16 kills and added 24 digs for Lourdes while Plasencio had 38 digs.  On Monday night, Lourdes went to Rochester Hills, Mich. for a make-up match and defeated Rochester (Mich.) 25-22, 15-25, 25-15, 25-7.  McKenna Hall hit .385 with 22 kills while Plasencio tallied 33 digs.

Scouting Northwestern Ohio: The Racers are coming off a straight sets loss at home against Madonna on Saturday afternoon.  Nevaeh Shugart leads Northwestern Ohio with 257 kills this season and is hitting .162 while Mailys Silvestre has a team-high 546 assists.  Taylor Reust has served up 56 service aces.  Defensively, Aubree Ricketts has recorded 496 digs while Reust has 71 blocks, including 20 of the solo variety.

Scouting Rochester (Mich.): The Warriors enter the week having lost eight straight matches after a four-set loss at home against Lourdes on Monday.  Rochester hosts Madonna on Wednesday, before visiting the Gray Wolves.  Taylor Butkiewicz leads Rochester with 408 kills and is hitting .181 while Autumn Deshetsky has handed out 599 assists.  Carly Rodman leads the Warriors with 34 service aces.  On defense, Rodman is also the team's dig leader with 849 while Olivia Pannecouk has recorded 85 blocks, including 17 solos.

Prepping for the WHAC Tournament: As the Gray Wolves conclude the regular season, they look for momentum heading into next week's WHAC tournament.  Lourdes appears to be locked into the seventh seed for the postseason event and will take to the road for the quarterfinals next Wednesday (Nov. 10).

Plasencio Tallies Career High: Alli Plasencio registered 38 digs on Saturday at Concordia (Mich.), a new career high for the senior and third most in a match all-time at Lourdes.  Her previous best was 33 digs at Concordia in 2019, a mark she equalled on Monday night at Rochester (Mich.).

Hall Has Career Night: McKenna Hall put down a career-high 22 kills on Monday evening at Rochester (Mich.) while swinging at a .385 clip.  Her previous career high was 21 last season at Concordia (Mich.) and had not had more than 12 kills in a match this season prior to facing the Warriors.

Moving Up the Single Season Charts: Alli Plasencio has recorded 531 digs in 2021, fourth most in a single season in program history.  She is 56 digs shy of Michi Jimenez's 2013 total of 587 that ranks third most all-time.  Angelica Dippold is the school's single season record holder with 597 digs in 2017.

On the Block: Michaela Eisenhauer and Cammy Smith rank fifth and sixth respectively on the school's career blocks list.  Eisenhauer has 135 rejections and Smith has 127 blocks.  Andrea Brown (2012-2013) is fourth on the all-time list with 138 blocks.

Plasencio All Over the Career Record Books: Alli Plasencio enters the week ranked third in program history with 1,507 career digs.  She is 98 behind Angelica Dippold (2016-2019) for second all-time.  Plasencio also is third on the career ace charts with 94, 10 behind Stef Comte (2013-2016) for second.  Plasencio ranks fifth in school history having appeared in 370 sets all-time, nine behind Lexie Curtis' (2013-2016) fourth place total.  Plasencio is also seventh all-time at Lourdes having appeared in 101 career matches, one fewer than Stephanie Richards (2013-2016) for sixth.

This and That: Alli Plasencio is the only Gray Wolf to play all 100 sets this season ... Lourdes has more service aces (171) than service errors (156) this season ... with a win on Saturday, Lourdes would secure a winning record at home in 2021.
