Upcoming in Gray Wolves Volleyball: Lourdes women's volleyball moves into the meat of its schedule this week with three Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference matches.  The Gray Wolves host 19th-ranked Madonna on Tuesday before hitting the road for four of their next five contests.  Lourdes plays at Lawrence Tech on Saturday and at Siena Heights on Sunday.

Head Coach Greg Reitz: In his 11th season on the Lourdes bench, Greg Reitz has a 198-136 (.593) record at the helm of the Gray Wolves.  In his 11th season overall as a women's head coach, Reitz has a 218-171 (.560) career mark.  He is the only head coach in Lourdes program's history and was named WHAC Coach of the Year in 2015.

Series Notes: Madonna leads the all-time series against Lourdes 10-9 dating back to Oct. 8, 2010.  The Gray Wolves won the two regular season meetings against the Crusaders last season, in straight sets at home and in five sets in Livonia, Mich., before Madonna posted a four-set win in the WHAC tournament semifinals.  The series is tied 2-2 inside the Ebeid Rec Center.  Lourdes is 15-3 against Lawrence Tech dating back to Sept. 17, 2011.  The Blue Devils swept the series last year, and have won three of the last four meetings.  The Gray Wolves are 6-2 against Lawrence Tech in Southfield, Mich.  Lourdes holds a 13-9 series edge against Siena Heights going back to Sept. 10, 2010.  The two schools split last season's meetings, with the Gray Wolves winning in Adrian, Mich. in straight sets and the Saints winning in five sets at the Ebeid Rec Center.  Siena Heights holds a 6-4 edge all-time in Adrian.

Wrapping Up Last Week: Lourdes hit just .053 for the match on Tuesday (Feb. 9) as the Gray Wolves fell at Indiana Tech 25-19, 25-23, 25-17.  Kortney Ellison led the Gray Wolves with nine kills and hit .318 while Alli Plasencio had 14 digs.  Michaela Eisenhauer had 12 digs and three blocks.

Scouting Madonna: The Crusaders enter the week following a three-set sweep at Indiana Tech on Friday.  Jodie Kelly has tallied 83 kills on the year while swinging at a .286 clip.  Jordyn Dawson has handed out a team-high 99 assists while Olivia Sweeney has recorded seven service aces.  Sweeney also leads the defense with 76 digs while DJ Sargent has tallied 15 blocks.

Scouting Lawrence Tech: The Blue Devils have dropped five straight matches dating back to last fall after being swept at Cornerstone on Feb. 9.  Isabella McDonald leads Lawrence Tech with 69 kills while Madeline Hudson is hitting .211.  Nicole Whan has dished out 109 assists and Nichole Huduk has tallied a team-best nine service aces.  Defensively, Alysha Vipushan has registered 60 digs while Marriya Henry has 15 blocks.

Scouting Siena Heights: The Saints have opened the season with back-to-back five-set victories, the most recent coming against Northwestern Ohio on Saturday.  Siena Heights heads to Rochester (Mich.) on Tuesday and hosts Indiana Tech on Friday before entertaining Lourdes.  Samantha Getson has registered a team-high 28 kills and is hitting .174 while Aubrey Bates has 88 assists and six service aces.  Defensively, Bates has tallied a team-leading 35 digs as well while Katelyn Ferris has 10 blocks.

In the Record Books: Alli Plasencio has moved into fourth place in program history with 751 career digs, passing Hannah Thompson (2010-2011) on the all-time charts.  She is 76 digs shy of Molly Shonk's (2015-2016) third place total of 827.  Yasmin Assis ranks 10th in Gray Wolf history with 423 career assists.  She trails Sarah Wisser (2016-2019) by 47 for ninth on the all-time charts.

Nearing 200: Lourdes is just two victories shy of 200 in the program's history.  Head coach Greg Reitz has been a part of all 198 wins today for the Gray Wolves.  Lourdes enters the weekend with a 198-133 all-time record.

A Big Block: Michaela Eisenhauer has tallied 13 blocks through the first three matches of the season for the Gray Wolves.  Her 1.08 blocks per set this season currently rank her 39th in the NAIA.

Facing Ranked Foes: Lourdes is 15-35 all-time against ranked opponents heading into Tuesday's match with 19th-ranked Madonna.  Lourdes last downed a ranked foe on Sept. 19, 2018, a four-set victory over #23 Madonna.  The Gray Wolves were 0-3 against ranked teams last season.

Lourdes Picked Sixth in WHAC Preseason Poll: Lourdes was projected to finish in sixth place in the Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference this season in a preseason poll conducted of the league's head coaches last fall.  Madonna was picked to win the regular title with Aquinas tabbed runner-up.

A Different Look This Season: Due to COVID-19, only four schools in the Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference played league matches during the fall.  Indiana Tech, Concordia (Mich.), Lawrence Tech, and Rochester (Mich.) each have either four or five WHAC contests under their belt while the remaining schools will join the four in competition this spring.  The WHAC tournament and NAIA National Championships will also take place this spring.

This and That: Lourdes has used 13 different players through the first two matches with only Alli Plasencio and  Michaela Eisenhauer appearing all 12 sets ... the Gray Wolves have served up 18 aces while committing just 15 service errors.
