Upcoming in Gray Wolves Volleyball: The Lourdes University women's volleyball team will play three matches for the second consecutive week beginning on Tuesday evening when the Gray Wolves travel to Northwestern Ohio.  Lourdes begins a stretch in which it will play six of eight matches at home on Friday evening, entertaining Aquinas before Concordia (Mich.) visits the Ebeid Rec Center on Saturday afternoon.

Head Coach Greg Reitz: In his 11th season on the Lourdes bench, Greg Reitz has a 200-139 (.590) record at the helm of the Gray Wolves.  In his 11th season overall as a women's head coach, Reitz has a 220-174 (.558) career mark.  He is the only head coach in Lourdes program's history and was named WHAC Coach of the Year in 2015.

Series Notes: Northwestern Ohio holds a 10-7 all-time advantage against Lourdes dating back to Oct. 2, 2010.  The two schools split their meetings in 2019 with each team winning in five sets on the other's home floor.  The Gray Wolves hold a 4-3 all-time edge in Lima, Ohio, winning the last four.  Aquinas holds a 9-8 series edge against the Gray Wolves dating back to Oct. 7, 2011.  The Saints won in four sets in the Ebeid Rec Center last season while Lourdes swept Aquinas in Grand Rapids, Mich.  Lourdes is 4-1 against the Saints inside the Ebeid Rec Center.  The Gray Wolves are 17-1 all-time against Concordia (Mich.) dating back to Aug. 20, 2010.  Lourdes has won 15 straight in the series after sweeping the Cardinals at home in 2019 and winning in four sets in Ann Arbor, Mich. Lourdes is 4-0 against Concordia inside the Ebeid Rec Center.

Wrapping Up Last Week: Lourdes rallied from two sets to one down against #19 Madonna on Wednesday evening to defeat the Crusaders 25-23, 23-25, 13-25, 25-19, 15-12 for its first victory of the season.  Michaela Eisenhauer recorded 15 kills and 12 digs in the win.  On Friday, the Gray Wolves took the opening set from undefeated Cornerstone before falling 22-25, 25-11, 25-17, 25-15 at home.  Eisenhauer hit .474 with 10 kills in the setback.  The weekend wrapped upon Sunday afternoon with a straight sets 26-24, 26-24, 25-16 win on the road at Rochester (Mich.).  Vanessa Villarreal tallied 12 kills and 20 digs in the triumph.

Scouting Madonna: The Racers have lost back-to-back contests after falling in straight sets at home against Lawrence Tech on Friday (Feb. 26) evening.  Jessica Schaad leads Northwestern Ohio with 82 kills and 15 service aces while hitting .135 while Hanna Milller has handed out 236 assists.  Defensively, Aubree Ricketts leads the Racers with 115 digs while Taylor Reust and Aaliya Alexis have 14 blocks each.

Scouting Aquinas: The Saints have won nine straight contests after sweeping both Huntington and Spring Arbor on Saturday (Feb. 27) afternoon.  Jackie Rozell has 156 kills and 17 service aces while Payton Klein is hitting .320 to pace the Aquinas offense.  On defense, Adrien Yondo has tallied 111 digs while Emily Jones has 44 blocks.

Scouting Concordia (Mich.): The Cardinals visit Lourdes after being swept at Madonna on Friday (Feb. 26) in their last outing.  Kayla Peters tops the team with 132 kills and while Kaitlin Veihl is hitting .226 with a team-best 20 service aces.  Hailey McCourt has a team-leading 187 assists.  Tara Schatzle paces the Concordia defense with 198 digs while Veihl has 19 blocks.
 
Reaching 200: Lourdes won its 200th match in program history on Sunday with the straight sets victory at Rochester (Mich.).  The Gray Wolves are in just their 11th season as a NAIA varsity women's program.  Lourdes enters this week with a 200-134 all-time record.

Another Ranked Victory: Lourdes picked up its 16th NAIA top-25 victory all-time last Wednesday, defeating 19th-ranked Madonna in five sets.  The Gray Wolves are now 16-35 all-time against ranked opponents.  The win against the Crusaders was the first against a ranked foe since Sept. 19, 2018, a four-set victory also over #23 Madonna.

Eisenhauer Has Big Week: Michaela Eisenhauer was a force for the Gray Wolves last week in the middle.  The senior middle blocker hit .333 while averaging 2.25 kills per set.  She had nine kills on 19 swings (.474) without an error in the upset of Madonna.  Eisenhauer also added seven blocks (0.58/set) and 16 digs (1.33/set) in the three matches.

In the Record Books: Alli Plasencio has moved into third place in program history with 835 career digs, passing Molly Shonk (2015-2016) on the all-time charts.  Yasmin Assis has moved into ninth in Gray Wolf history with 574 career assists.  She trails Mallory Lenhart (2014-2015) by 75 for eighth on the all-time charts.  

This and That: Only Alli Plasencio and Michaela Eisenhauer has appeared in all 32 sets for Lourdes this year ... the Gray Wolves have served up 54 aces while committing just 41 service errors ... Megan Vayansky made her season debut for the Gray Wolves against Cornerstone.
