Final Results
Lourdes continued Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference action on Friday afternoon, falling in a 7-0 decision to Aquinas inside of MVP Sportsplex in Grand Rapids, Mich.
"There were many improvements today and I could see the players putting what they have learned into action," head coach
Megan Miller said afterwards. "We just came up short."
Aquinas (1-3, 1-1 WHAC) took both of the contested doubles matches to start the day. The Gray Wolves'
Niki Polce (New Boston, Mich./Huron H.S.) and
Vanessa Skouroukos (Toledo, Ohio/Waite H.S.) fell 6-0 at the top of the lineup while
Annsley Mann (Sylvania, Ohio/Southview H.S.) and
Jordan Bucher (North Baltimore, Ohio/North Baltimore H.S.) dropped a 6-2 decision.
In singles play, Lourdes (0-7, 0-4) dropped all four contests in straight sets. Mann fell 6-3, 6-1 at number one singles while Skouroukos suffered a 6-0, 6-0 setback at the second spot. Bucher also dropped her match by that same score at fourth singles while Polce had the tightest match at third singles, suffering a 6-4, 6-1 setback.
