Upcoming in Gray Wolves Soccer: The 2020 (21) regular season comes to a close for Lourdes University with a pair of matches on the road over the next week.  The Gray Wolves will conclude Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference play on Thursday afternoon at Madonna before heading to Michigan-Dearborn on Monday night for a contest that will not count in the league ledger.

Head Coach Jackie Phillips: In her sixth season on the Lourdes bench, Jackie Phillips has a 35-59-6 (.380) record at the helm of the Gray Wolves as well as overall as a head coach.  She is the only head coach in Lourdes program's history.

Series Notes: Madonna leads the all-time series against Lourdes 5-0-1 dating back to Sept. 30, 2015.  The Crusaders won the last meeting between the two sides 3-0 at Wildcat Stadium in 2019.  Madonna holds a 3-0 series edge in Livonia, Mich.  Lourdes is 2-1 all-time against Michigan-Dearborn in a series that began Oct. 24, 2017.  The Gray Wolves won the last meeting between the two schools 5-4 in overtime at Wildcat Stadium in 2019.  Michigan-Dearborn won the only previous meeting played in Riverview, Mich.

Wrapping Up Last Week: Indiana Tech scored a goal in the 73rd minute on Wednesday (March 17) as the Warriors notched a 1-0 victory over Lourdes in Fort Wayne, Ind.  Kerstyn Williams made nine saves in goal for the Gray Wolves in the setback as Lourdes was outshot 18-10 for the match.  On Saturday, Aquinas scored three times in the first 12 minutes of the match in Grand Rapids, Mich. and defeated the Gray Wolves 3-0.  Williams made four first half saves while Lily Yoder made a pair of stops over the final 45 minutes.  The Saints outshot Lourdes 26-2 on the afternoon.

Scouting Madonna: The Crusaders had their four-match winning streak snapped on Monday (March 22) as Madonna dropped a 3-2 overtime contest to Northwestern Ohio on the road.  Megan Verant and Abby Werthman lead the Crusaders in scoring with three goals each while Sierra Nissan has handed out a team-high two assists.  In goal, Alex Thomas sports a 1.97 goals against average and a .636 save percentage while Brooke Bruletti has a 1.67 GAA and a .722 save mark as the two have split time between the posts.

Scouting Michigan-Dearborn: The Wolverines are playing their first match of the season on Monday evening, hosting Lourdes in a non-conference tilt.  Gabriella Teams returns for the Wolverines after scoring a team-leading three goals and two assists for eight points one season ago.  Katherine Costelllo also had two assists.

On the Single Season Charts: Lourdes has already cracked the top-five for single season goals with 16 tallies this season in just 13 matches.  The Gray Wolves' 10 assists also rank fifth all-time at Lourdes along with the 42 total points.

Solid Defensively: As a team, Lourdes has posted a 1.54 goals against average thus far this season, making a run at the school record. Only the 2018 team has posted a lower mark in program history, finishing that year at 1.54.  The Gray Wolves have notched four shutouts as a team, tied for fourth most in school history.

Mixing Up the Lineup: Lourdes has had 21 different players draw at least one starting assignment this season.  Only Chloe Shaffer, Erin Caldwell, and Maria Schmidt have started all 13 contests.

Spreading the Wealth: Lourdes has had 12 different players score goals this season.  In addition, 14 total players have recorded a point.  Chloe Shaffer leads the Gray Wolves with seven points, including three assists, this season.  Shaffer, Katie Varney, Abigail Mann, and Emily Johnson share the goal lead with two each.

Williams Owns All Career Goalkeeping Marks: Kerstyn Williams has set the Lourdes career record for every goalkeeping category.  She has eight career shutouts, two more than Erika Brinkman (2015).  She has passed Kiley Transit (2016-2018) for the school mark in every other category.  Williams has played 48 matches in goal, and has spent 3609:26 between the posts.  In addition, Williams has 288 career saves.  The senior's 1.87 career goals against average and .793 save percentage are both program bests as well.

Elsewhere In the Record Book: Abigail Mann scored her eighth career goal against Point Park, moving her into a tie for fourth on the Gray Wolves' all-time scoring chart with Jada Foster (2015-2016).  Mann is one goal behind Remy Houttekier's (2015, 2017) third place total of nine career goals.  Katie Varney ranks sixth on the all-time goals list, one behind Mann and Foster.  Mann is also fourth in school history with 22 career points while Varney is fifth with 18.

Lots of Appearances: Maria Schmidt ranks second all-time at Lourdes with 58 starts wearing the terra cotta and black.  She trails just Karlie O'Keefe (2016-2019) who started 68 contests during her time with the Gray Wolves.  Schmidt also is third in all-time appearances with 59, trailing Helena Rammal (2015-2018) by two matches for second.  Erin Caldwell has tied Lauren Poslaiko (2016-2019) for third all-time with 44 career starting assignments.

Captains: Kerstyn Williams and Olivia Pomponio are all serving as the team's co-captains for the spring season.  Both are in their first season in the leadership role.
