Playing outdoors for the first time this spring, Lourdes suffered a 7-0 setback to Adrian on Wednesday afternoon at Shadow Valley-Maumee.
 
"I'm extremely proud that we stood together as a team and battled hard for every point," head coach Megan Miller said afterwards.
 
Adrian (4-3) won the doubles point to begin the day.  Niki Polce (New Boston, Mich./Huron H.S.) and Vanessa Skouroukos (Toledo, Ohio/Waite H.S.) dropped a 6-1 decision at the top of the order while Annsley Mann (Sylvania, Ohio/Southview H.S.) and Jordan Bucher (North Baltimore, Ohio/North Baltimore H.S.) fell 6-2 at the second spot.
 
In singles action, Polce battled back from a set down at the third spot to force a match tie-breaker, but ultimately fell 6-4, 6-7 (4), 10-8.  Mann dropped a 6-1, 6-3 contest at number one while Skouroukos fell 6-0, 6-0 at the second spot.  Bucher suffered a 6-0, 6-3 setback at fourth singles.
 
Lourdes (0-8) will return to action on April 8, hosting Grace Christian.  Action begins at 11:30 a.m. at Shadow Valley-Maumee.
