Upcoming in Gray Wolves Soccer: Lourdes will open its seventh season of intercollegiate women's soccer on Wednesday afternoon as the Gray Wolves face Rio Grande.  The match, which was slated for Rio Grande, Ohio, has been moved to a neutral site contest in Chillicothe, Ohio due to the remnants of Hurricane Ira.  Lourdes then heads to Pittsburgh, Pa. on Saturday for a match against Point Park to continue the season-opening four-match road trip.

Head Coach Jackie Phillips: In her seventh season on the Lourdes bench, Jackie Phillips has a 36-61-6 (.379) record at the helm of the Gray Wolves as well as overall as a head coach.  She is the only head coach in Lourdes program's history.

Series Notes: Lourdes won the only previous meeting against Rio Grande, a 3-1 triumph over the Red Storm at Wildcat Stadium on Sept. 1, 2019.  The Gray Wolves are 3-0 all-time against Point Park in a series that began Aug. 31, 2018.  Lourdes won the last meeting between the two schools 2-0 in Rossford, Ohio on Feb. 26, 2021.  The Gray Wolves won the only previous meeting in Pittsburgh, Pa. 1-0 in 2019.

Wrapping Up 2020: Lourdes finished the 2020 season with a 5-11 record overall.  The Gray Wolves had a 1-8 mark in Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference play, placing ninth in the league ledger.  Lourdes traveled to Aquinas in the WHAC tournament quarterfinals, falling to the Saints 3-0.  The season was split last year, with Lourdes playing five matches in the fall and 11 matches in the spring of 2021 due to COVID-19.

Scouting Rio Grande: The Red Storm opened their season on Saturday (Aug. 28) suffering a 2-0 setback at home against Mount Vernon Nazarene.  Lorna Campos returns this season for Rio Grande after leading the team with 15 points on five goals and five assists in 2020.  In goal, Morgan Nutter went the distance in the season opener, allowing two goals while making six saves.

Scouting Point Park: The Pioneers are still looking for their first goal of the season after falling 3-0 at home to 14th-ranked Grace on Saturday (Aug. 28).  Gillian Bierhals has played every minute in goal thus far for the Pioneers.  She sports a 2.50 goals against average and a .615 save percentage.

Lourdes in Season Openers: Lourdes is 2-3-1 all-time in season openers after falling to Ohio Christian 1-0 at home to begin the 2020 campaign.  The Gray Wolves last won a season opener in 2018, a 4-0 triumph at LaRoche.  Lourdes is 1-0-1 when beginning the season on the road.

Facing the RSC: Lourdes opens the year with back-to-back matches against River States Conference opponents.  Point Park is tabbed to finish second in the RSC while Rio Grande was selected third.  All-time, the Gray Wolves are 6-2 against current members of the RSC.  In addition to the three wins against Point Park and one versus Rio Grande, Lourdes is 1-0 against Indiana East and 1-2 versus Ohio Christian.

A Return to "Normal": After having the 2020 season split between the fall and spring, the women's soccer schedule returns to the fall entirely in 2021.  The Gray Wolves have 18 regular season matches on the slate this year, including seven at home at Wildcat Stadium.

2020 Award Winners: Alexis Gordon and Gianna Salatino were both named to the Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference All-Newcomer Team last season.  Gordon appeared in 15 matches for the Gray Wolves as a rookie, scoring a pair of goals, while Salatino stepped onto the pitch in all 16 matches, handing out a pair of assists.

Top Returning Scorers: Abigail Mann led Lourdes offensively in 2020, scoring four goals for eight total points.  Chloe Shaffer was second on the squad with seven points, scoring twice while sharing the team lead in assists with Erika Turk as each handed out three helpers.

A Record Holder in Goal: Kerstyn Williams returns for her final season in goal for the Gray Wolves having already set all of the school's career goalkeeping records.  Williams has eight career shutouts, sports a .796 career save percentage and a 1.88 goals against average while making 305 saves in 50 matches between the posts.

In the Record Book: Abigail Mann enters the year third in school history with 10 career goals, just three shy of Clare Ciarlino (2016-2017) for second on the all-time charts.  Mann is also fourth with six career assists, two in back of the second place tie between Ciarlino and Remy Houttekier (2015, 2017).  Mann's 26 career points are tied with Houttekier for third in that category as well, five behind second place Karlie O'Keefe (2016-2019).  Kerstyn Williams and Erin Caldwell enter the season tied for sixth in career appearances with 51 each.

Captains: Kerstyn Williams, and Olivia Pomponio will serve as the team's co-captains in 2020.  Both served in the leadership role in 2020 as well.

Gray Wolves Tabbed Ninth in WHAC Preseason Poll: Lourdes was selected to finish in ninth place in the WHAC this season in the preseason poll conducted of the league's head coaches.  The Gray Wolves were picked just behind eighth place Indiana Tech.  Aquinas was chosen to win the league crown.

This and That: Lourdes enters the 2021 season with a 36-61-6 all-time record ... the Gray Wolves are 12-35-3 all-time on the road and 2-1 in neutral site matches ... Lourdes has 21 players returning that were a part of the program in the 2020 season ... due to COVID-19, last season did not count as a year of eligibility for Lourdes players.
