Upcoming in Gray Wolves Soccer: The midway point of the 2021 season arrives this week as Lourdes plays back-to-back home matches at Wildcat Stadium. On Wednesday, the Gray Wolves host Indiana Tech in a battle of schools that both won their WHAC openers. Lourdes will celebrate Senior Night on Saturday evening when Michigan-Dearborn comes to town.
Head Coach Jackie Phillips: In her seventh season on the Lourdes bench,
Jackie Phillips has a 40-62-9 (.401) record at the helm of the Gray Wolves as well as overall as a head coach. She is the only head coach in Lourdes program's history.
Series Notes: Indiana Tech leads the all-time series against Lourdes 4-2 dating back to Oct. 10, 2015. The Warriors won last season's meeting on March 17, 2021 1-0 in Fort Wayne, Ind. Lourdes leads the series at Wildcat Stadium though, 2-1. The Gray Wolves are 3-1 all-time against Michigan-Dearborn in a series that began Oct. 24, 2017. Lourdes has won two straight meetings after a 2-1 triumph in Dearborn, Mich. on March, 30, 2021. The Gray Wolves have won both previous meetings at Wildcat Stadium.
Wrapping Up Last Week: Goshen handed Lourdes its first setback of the 2021 season on Tuesday afternoon (Sept. 21) in a 1-0 match. The Maple Leafs lone goal came via an own goal in the 69th minute.
Emmy Rodger made three saves in net for the Gray Wolves. On Saturday (Sept. 25), Lourdes opened Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference play with a 1-0 victory at Siena Heights.
Chloe Shaffer scored the lone goal of the match with
Alexis Gordon drawing the assist as the Gray Wolves down the Saints for the first time in program history. Rodger made four saves in goal to earn the shutout.
Scouting Indiana Tech: The Warriors enter the match having won three of their last four matches after downing Michigan-Dearborn 3-1 on the road Saturday (Sept. 25). Molly Ames and Lily Rothert have paced the offense this season with eight total points on three goals and two assists while Bailey Elliott has also scored three times. Danielle Dunn also shares the team lead with two assists. In goal, Michaela Bitle has played more than 465 minutes sporting a 0.97 goals against average and a .872 save percentage.
Scouting Michigan-Dearborn: The Wolverines enter the week having dropped back-to-back matches following a 3-1 loss at home against Indiana Tech on Saturday (Sept. 25). Michigan-Dearborn hosts Lawrence Tech on Wednesday. Melanie Skamiera leads the offense with two goals and four points while Gabriella Teems has a goal and an assist. In goal, Amber Festian has played every minute, posting a 2.67 goals against average and a .704 save percentage.
Rodger Earns WHAC Honors: Emmy Rodger was named the Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference Defensive Player of the Week following her showing last week. She posted a 0.50 goals against average, with the lone goal she allowed being an own goal. The rookie also had a .875 save percentage in the matches against Goshen and Siena Heights.
Thanks Seniors: Lourdes will honors the seven members of the 2021 senior class prior to Saturday evening's match against Michigan-Dearborn.

Stingy Defense: Lourdes has yielded just six goals in 760 minutes of action this season, a goals against average of 0.71. The Gray Wolves have not conceded more than one goal in a match all year. In addition, Lourdes has surrendered just 36 total shots on goal, an average of 4.5 per contest.
Most Ties in a Season: Lourdes entered the 2021 season having six draws total in the first six season's of the program before registering three in the first half of this season. The most ties in a year prior to this season were two in both 2017 and 2018.
Gray Wolves Tabbed Ninth in WHAC Preseason Poll: Lourdes was selected to finish in ninth place in the WHAC this season in the preseason poll conducted of the league's head coaches. The Gray Wolves were picked just behind eighth place Indiana Tech. Aquinas was chosen to win the league crown.
Mann Moves Up Scoring Charts: Abigail Mann tallied her 12th goal of her career against Bethel (Ind.), third most all-time at Lourdes, She trails Clare Ciarlino (2016-2017) by one for second on the all-time list. Mann has also moved into a tie with Karlie O'Keefe (2016-2019) for second place with 31 career points.
First Collegiate Shutouts: Emmy Rodger registered her first career shutout as a Gray Wolf on Saturday in the 1-0 victory over Siena Heights. The clean sheet game just 11 days after
Lily Yoder notched her first shutout as a Gray Wolf on Sept. 14 in the scoreless draw with Huntington.
Lots of Appearances: Erin Caldwell has moved into fifth in program history with 55 career appearances.
Kerstyn Williams has is now sixth all-time at Lourdes having stepped on to the pitch 54 times.
Captains: Kerstyn Williams, and
Olivia Pomponio are serving as the team's co-captains in 2021. Both served in the leadership role in 2020 as well.
This and That: The victory over Siena Heights was the first over the Saints in program history (1-6-1) ... Lourdes is now 3-4 all-time in WHAC openers ... the Gray Wolves are looking to start 2-0 in WHAC play for the first time ever ... the Gray Wolves are outshooting the opposition 100-71 on the year.
