Match Play Suspended Results

After qualifying in fifth place after stroke play, Lourdes is deadlocked 1-1 in its first round match against Cornerstone as play was suspended due to darkness on Monday evening at the WHAC Preview held at Stonehedge Golf Club in Augusta, Mich.
 
After the start of play was delayed an hour due to frost, the Gray Wolves shot 340 in the morning stroke play round, finishing just one shot out behind fourth place Aquinas and two strokes behind third place Siena Heights.  Lawrence Tech was sixth with a 342 total.
 
Tina Kindler (Fort Wayne, Ind./Carroll H.S.) led the way for the Gray Wolves, firing a round of 82, tying for eighth place individually.  Emma Mulder (Temperance, Mich./Bedford H.S.) followed with an 84 while Jordan Bucher (North Baltimore, Ohio/North Baltimore H.S.) carded an 85 on the 5,868-yard, par-72 layout.  For Kindler and Bucher, the duo shot their best rounds of the season.
 
Morgan Altenbach (Lima, Ohio/Shawnee H.S.) added an 89 while Shauna White (Somerset, Ohio/Sheridan H.S.) carded a 93 to complete the lineup.
 
Seeded fifth, the Gray Wolves faced eighth-seeded Cornerstone and the match was deadlocked as darkness fell.  Altenbach won her match 5&4 while Bucher fell by the same score.
 
Lourdes is leading in two of the remaining three contests.  Mulder is up three with three to play while Kindler has a three-up lead with four to play.  White is trailing by one hole with five holes left in her match.
 
The winner of the Lourdes-Cornerstone match will then face the winner of Lawrence Tech and Madonna while the two match losers will also meet on Tuesday.  Action is scheduled to begin at 9 a.m.
