Upcoming in Gray Wolves Volleyball: Lourdes steps out of Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference play on Saturday for the final time in 2022 as the Gray Wolves take part in a tri-match hosted by Mount Vernon Nazarene.  The Gray Wolves will face Trinity International in the opening match before battling the host Cougars.

Head Coach Greg Reitz: In his 13th season on the Lourdes bench, Greg Reitz has a 222-174 (.561) record at the helm of the Gray Wolves.  In his 15th season overall as a women's head coach, Reitz has a 242-210 (.535) career mark.  He is the only head coach in Lourdes program's history and was named WHAC Coach of the Year in 2015.

Series Notes: Lourdes and Trinity International are meeting for just the second time ever on Saturday.  The Trojans won the only previous meeting between the two schools in straight sets back on Sept. 3, 2010 in Chicago, Ill.  Mount Vernon Nazarene holds a 4-1 all-time series edge against the Gray Wolves dating back to Oct. 23, 2010.  The Cougars have won two straight matches against Lourdes after sweeping the Gray Wolves earlier this season on Aug. 27 inside the Ebeid Rec Center as part of the Gray Wolf Invitational.  Mount Vernon Nazarene won the only previous match played in Mount Vernon, Ohio in four sets last season.

Wrapping Up Last Week: Lourdes was swept in straight sets at Lawrence Tech last Wednesday (Sept. 28) 25-18, 25-22, 25-16.  Cammy Smith led the Gray Wolves with seven kills and hit .545 while Alli Plasencio tallied 15 digs.  On Friday, Siena Heights registered a 26-24, 25-14, 25-13 victory at home over the Gray Wolves.  Abby Gentile, Macey Zinser, and McKenna Hall each had six kills while Plasencio and Hall had 11 digs.  On Saturday, Michigan-Dearborn defeated Lourdes 25-21, 20-25, 25-17, 25-23 inside the Ebeid Rec Center.  Hall put down 14 kills while Zinser added 12 more.  Plasencio tallied 16 digs defensively.

Scouting Trinity International: The Trojans enter Saturday having won three straight matches after defeating Roosevelt in four sets on Tuesday evening.  Trinity International faces Mount Vernon Nazarene earlier on Saturday before battling Lourdes.  Brianna Torres paces the Trojan offense with 298 kills and is hitting .200 this season while Anna Skrzypchak has handed out 719 assists as the primary setter.  Lana Vujosevic has recorded a team-high 30 service aces.  Defensively, Jaylyn Freeman has tallied 292 digs while Madison Williams has 31 total blocks.

Scouting Mount Vernon Nazarene: The Cougars had their three-match winning streak snapped on Wednesday evening as Mount Vernon Nazarene was swept at Marian.  Mount Vernon Nazarene will host Trinity International prior to facing Lourdes on Saturday.  Ashley Stumperth leads the Cougars with 270 kills this season while Erica Gasser is hitting a team-leading .321.  Paige Brenner has handed out 752 assists and Molly Galaszewski has registered 31 service aces.  Defensively, Galaszewski has a team-high 343 digs while Gasser has registered 59 total blocks, including 16 of the solo variety.

Looking to Finish Non-Conference Play over .500: Lourdes enters its final two non-conference matches 4-3 outside of Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference play this season.  With a win in one of the two matches on Saturday, the Gray Wolves would finish non-league play with a winning record.

A Bunched WHAC Standings: At the midway point of the WHAC season, just one match separates fifth place from 10th place in the standings.  The Gray Wolves are 3-7 and tied for eighth, but will face two teams, Concordia and Aquinas, just one match ahead of them in the standings as soon as league play resumes next week.

Keeping the Streak Alive: Alli Plasencio has tallied double figure dig totals in all 17 matches thus far this season, averaging 5.04 digs per set, third most in the WHAC this year.  The fifth-year senior has tallied 10 or more digs in 38 consecutive matches dating back to last season.

Plasencio All Over the Record Books: Alli Plasencio has moved into second place all-time in program history with 1,864 career digs.  She trails school record-holder Michi Jimenez's (2012-2015) 2,143 digs by 279.  Plasencio also ranks second all-time with 111 service aces, trailing just Lexie Curtis' (2013-2016) 164 on the chart.  Plasencio ranks third in school history having appeared in 438 sets all-time, 22 behind Stef Comte's (2013-2016) second place total.  Plasencio is also third having played in 121 career matches, 11 appearances shy of Jimenez for second all-time in a Lourdes uniform.

Also in the Record Books: Kylee McBride has moved into eighth all-time at Lourdes with 584 career kills.  She needs 14 more to move into seventh place and match Katie McKenty's (2012-2014) total.  Cammy Smith has climbed into fourth place on the blocks list with 153, trailing Ave Stout (2015-2016) by 41 for third place.  Katey Stakolich is fifth in school history with 983 career assists, needing 137 more to match Lexie Curtis (2013-2016) for fourth place.

This and That: Lourdes has 105 service aces against just 92 service errors on the year ... Alli Plasencio is the lone Gray Wolf to appear in all 57 sets this season with McKenna Hall playing in 56 of the 57 ... the Gray Wolves have not lost this season when tallying more kills and hitting a better percentage than their opponents.
