Solid singles showings highlighted Lourdes effort on Monday afternoon as the Gray Wolves dropped a 7-0 decision to 20^th-ranked Indiana Tech inside of Wildwood Racquet Club in Fort Wayne, Ind.
 
"Women's tennis is moving forward by leaps and bounds," said head coach Epifani Jones after the match.  "The combination of feisty freshman and valued veterans will prove to be a turning point for the program."
 
Rookie Mallory Schardt (Temperance, Mich./Bedford H.S.) won the opening set at second singles and moved into a match tie-break for the third set before dropping a narrow 2-6, 6-0, 10-5 decision.
 
Antonella Caro (Brampton, Ont./Holy Cross Catholic Academy) played a 6-2, 6-1 match at the top of the singles lineup before dropping her match while Jordan Bucher (North Baltimore, Ohio/North Baltimore H.S.) fell 6-0, 6-1 at the fourth spot.  Niki Polce (New Boston, Mich./Huron H.S.) fell 6-0, 6-0 at third singles.
 
In doubles play, Caro and Schardt fell 6-0 at number one while Polce and Bucher dropped second doubles by the same score.
 
Lourdes (0-2, 0-2 WHAC) will now have three weeks off before hosting Capital in non-conference action on March 20.  First serve is set for noon at Shadow Valley.
