Final Results

Lourdes fell in its Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference quarterfinal match to Aquinas 4-0 on Friday afternoon at Gainey Athletic Complex in Grand Rapids, Mich.
 
The third-seeded Saints opened play by winning all three doubles contests.  The Lourdes team of Victor Dieltiens (Altea, Spain/Sint Eduardus [Belguim] H.S.) and Ulises Barradas (Nueva Esparta, Venezuela/UE Colegio Madre Guadalupe) fell 6-0 at the top spot while Dominick Brock (Grant, Mich./Grant H.S.) and Alvaro Trillo-Sanchez (Madrid Spain/Churchill County [Nev.] H.S.) dropped a 6-1 decision at second doubles.  Niladri Aich (Cooch Behar, India/Maumee Valley Country Day [Ohio] H.S.) and Kareem Badr (Orlando, Fla./Montverde Academy) also suffered a 6-1 setback at third doubles.
 
In singles action, Dieltiens dropped his match at the top of the lineup 6-2, 6-0 while Barradas fell by the same score at second singles.  Brock suffered a 6-1, 6-1 defeat at sixth singles as the Racers clinched the match.
 
In the unfinished contests, Trillo-Sanchez trailed 6-0, 3-3 at third singles while Badr dropped his first set 7-5 and trailed 3-0 in set two at the fourth spot.  Aich fell 6-4 in the opening set and led 3-2 in the second while his match was abandoned.
 
Lourdes (2-9) will close out the 2021-2022 season on Saturday afternoon, traveling to Grace Christian.  Action is slated to begin at 2 p.m. at Grandville High School in Grandville, Mich.
