Final Results
Lourdes began the 2022-2023 women's golf season on Friday afternoon with a sixth place finish at the Trine Invitational held at Zollner Golf Club in Angola, Ind.
The Gray Wolves posted a team score of 362, just three shots out behind Cleary and Indiana Tech which shared four place. Lourdes was 46 strokes in front of seventh place Capital. Grace won the team title with a 317 total, 24 shots ahead of runner-up Trine.
"We played pretty well for our first time out," head coach
Gil Guerrero said afterwards. "Our short game needcs lots of work, but I see a great deal of potential. We will continue to get better."
Jordan Bucher (North Baltimore, Ohio/North Baltimore H.S.) led the way for the Gray Wolves firing an 87, her collegiate best, to finish in a tie for 16
th place overall.
Tina Kindler (Fort Wayne, Ind./Carroll H.S.) added a 91 while
Morgan Altenbach (Lima, Ohio/Shawnee H.S.) and
Emma Mulder (Temperance, Mich./Bedford H.S.) each carded 92s to complete the scoring.
Hannah Craig (Perrysburg, Ohio/Perrysburg H.S.) posted a 93 on the 5,963-yard, par-72 course while
Shauna White (Somerset, Ohio/Sheridan H.S.), in her collegiate debut, and
Kate Woodbury (Sylvania, Ohio/Northview H.S.) each shot rounds of 96.
Summer Stillson of Grace won the tournament posting five-over par 77, two shots better than teammates Grace May and Lucy Young, who shared runner-up accolades.
The Gray Wolves will return to action on Sept. 7 as the team hosts the Lourdes Invitational. Action is slated to begin at 9 a.m. at The Legacy Golf Club.
