Upcoming in Gray Wolves Soccer: Having yet to be defeated in 2022, Lourdes wraps up a brief two-match homestand on Wednesday evening as the Gray Wolves welcome Northwestern Ohio to Wildcat Stadium. Lourdes then takes to the road for four of its next five contests, beginning on Saturday afternoon with a trip to Lawrence Tech.
Head Coach Jackie Phillips: In her eighth season on the Lourdes bench,
Jackie Phillips has a 47-65-16 (.430) record at the helm of the Gray Wolves as well as overall as a head coach. She is the only head coach in Lourdes program's history.
Series Notes: Northwestern Ohio has won all eight previous meetings against Lourdes in a series that began Oct. 14, 2015. The Racers scored a 4-1 victory in Lima, Ohio during the 2021 season. Northwestern Ohio is 3-0 against the Gray Wolves all-time at Wildcat Stadium. Lawrence Tech holds a 4-2-1 series edge against Lourdes dating back to Oct. 21, 2015. The two schools battled to a scoreless draw last season at Wildcat Stadium. The Blue Devils are 3-1 against Lourdes in Southfield, Mich.
Wrapping Up Last Week: Kayla Dillinger scored in the 15th minute and
Erin Caldwell added an insurance tally in the 55th minute as Lourdes opened WHAC play at home with a 2-0 victory over Cornerstone.
Emmy Rodger needed to make just one save to earn the shutout in goal as Lourdes outshot the Golden Eagles 11-6 for the match.
Scouting Northwestern Ohio: The Racers are coming off a 1-1 draw with Siena Heights on Saturday afternoon to open conference action. Ashley Wilson paces the Northwestern Ohio offense with six goals and 13 total points this season while Nanna Rosengreen has scored four times. Patricia Gomez Nogueras leads the Racers in assists with four. In goal, Ilke Brandsma has played a majority of the minutes, sporting a 1.75 goals against average and a 1.75 goals against average.
Scouting Lawrence Tech: The Blue Devils opened WHAC play on Saturday with a 1-1 tie against Indiana Tech. Lawrence Tech plays at Rochester (Mich.) on Wednesday before hosting Lourdes. Bridget Finneran, Abigail Gray, Jenny Dear, and Emily Horne have accounted for the four goals offensively for the Blue Devils this season with Finneran and Gray each handing out an assist as well. Between the posts, Gabi Nelson has played a majority of the minutes, registering a 3.12 goals against average and a .618 save percentage.
Rodger Earns WHAC Defensive Player of the Week Honors: Emmy Rodger collected her third career WHAC Defensive Player of the Week honors after notching her fourth shutout of the season against Cornerstone. The sophomore was forced to make just one save in the effort.
Matching the Career Mark: Emmy Rodger recorded her eighth shutout of her career against Cornerstone, matching the school record of eight career shutouts set by
Kerstyn Williams (2017-2021).
Dillinger Takes the Scoring Lead: Kayla Dillinger became the first multi-goal scorer for the Gray Wolves this season with her tally against Cornerstone. He also leads Lourdes with five total points, having also handed out an assist.
Solid Defense: The Gray Wolves have yielded just two goals through the first six matches of the season. Lourdes has only allowed 18 total shots on goal, 44 total shot attempts, and 11 corner kicks.
Matching Best Start Ever: Lourdes has matched its best six-match start in program history at 3-0-3. The Gray Wolves also went 3-0-3 to begin the 2021 season, finishing the year with an 8-4-7 mark overall, the first winning season in program history.
Rodger Fourth in Saves: Emmy Rodger's 90 career saves already rank her fourth on the school's career list. She is just six stops behind Erika Brinkman (2015) for third on the career charts.
Mann Holds Career Records: Senior
Abigail Mann already holds all of the school's career offensive records already. The senior has scored 16 career goals, two more than any other player in program history, and notched her 13th career assist last week against Holy Cross (Ind.), four more than the second place total. Mann's 45 career points are 11 in front of second place as well. She also holds the school mark with 168 shot attempts, the only Gray Wolf with more than 100 on the list. Mann's five match-winning goals are tied with Karlie O'Keefe (2016-2019) and current teammate
Chloe Shaffer for most in school history.
Moving Up the Scoring List: Brynn McGarvey scored her seventh career goal in the opener against Rio Grande, moving her into a tie with
Katie Varney (2019-2021) for seventh on the school's all-time goals list. McGarvey also has 15 points now, moving into eighth place on the all-time charts, two points behind Jada Foster (2015-2016) for seventh. The match-winner was the third of her career, moving into a tie with Clare Ciarlino (2016-2017) for sixth all-time.

Chloe Shaffer has handed out five career helpers, tied with Tara Blundell (2015, 2017) for fifth on the all-time charts at Lourdes.
