Day 1 Results

Theo Casadei (Annecy Le Vieux, France/CNED) and Josh Parish (Columbus, Ohio/Cristo Rey H.S.) each recorded a singles victory for Lourdes on the opening day of play at the ITA Midwest Regional held at the Sutter Tennis Center in Marion, Ind.
 
Casadei was an 8-3 winner over Sam Lyon of Spring Arbor in the opening round of the B flight.  Parish added a first round win in the same flight over Ian Bailey of Indiana Wesleyan by a score of 8-4.  Luis Guzman (Santo Domingo, D.R./Cranston East [R.I.] H.S.) also played in the B flight of singles, dropping an 8-5 match.
 
In the main draw of singles, Ondrej Skokan (Pardubice, Czech Republic/Gymnazium Dasicka 1083) fell in both of his matches by the same 6-2, 6-1 score.  Ulises Barradas (Nueva Esparta, Venezuela/UE Colegio Madre Guadalupe) also suffered a pair of setbacks in the main draw, losing his opener 6-0, 6-2 before dropping his consolation draw contest 6-0, 6-1.
 
Skokan and Barradas teamed in the main draw of doubles as well, suffering an 8-1 setback to the second seed from the University of Northwestern Ohio.  Casadei and Cody Keller (Oregon, Ohio/Clay H.S.) played in the B flight of doubles, falling 8-3 in their opening round match against Spring Arbor.
 
The Gray Wolves will return to the court on Thursday morning for day two of action at the ITA Midwest Regional.
