Upcoming in Gray Wolves Volleyball: Lourdes returns home for a pair of matches this week. The Gray Wolves open Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference play on Wednesday evening hosting Concordia (Mich.) before hosting Georgetown (Ky.) in a non-conference tilt on Saturday afternoon.
Head Coach Greg Reitz: In his 13th season on the Lourdes bench,
Greg Reitz has a 218-167 (.566) record at the helm of the Gray Wolves. In his 15th season overall as a women's head coach, Reitz has a 238-202 (.541) career mark. He is the only head coach in Lourdes program's history and was named WHAC Coach of the Year in 2015.
Series Notes: Lourdes holds a 17-5 all-time series advantage against Concordia (Mich.) in a series that began Aug. 20, 20210. The Cardinals have won the last four meetings between the two schools though, posting a three-set sweep in the Ebeid Rec Center and a five-set victory in Ann Arbor, Mich. last season. The Gray Wolves are 4-2 all-time against Concordia inside the Ebeid Rec Center. Georgetown (Ky.) is 2-1 against Lourdes in a series that began Sept. 6, 2013. The Gray Wolves won the last meeting against the Tigers in four sets in Georgetown, Ky. on Oct. 29, 2016. All three previous meetings took place in Georgetown with Saturday being the Tigers first appearance in the Ebeid Rec Center.
Wrapping Up Last Week: Lourdes was held to .018 hitting and committed 23 attack errors on Friday evening at Indiana East, falling to the Red Wolves 25-17, 25-16, 25-18 in the opening night of the IU East Invitational.
McKenna Hall had a team-high nine kills while
Alli Plasencio tallied 11 digs. On Saturday, the Gray Wolves wrapped up play in the event with a 25-12, 25-12, 25-8 victory over Great Lakes Christian.
Lydia Landoll and
Mackenzie Kemenah each had five kills as the Gray Wolves put down 36 on the night while Plasencio tallied 13 digs.
Scouting Concordia (Mich.): The Cardinals enter the week having been idle since dropping all four matches Aug. 26-27 at the Amber McClure Fayerweather Memorial tournament, including sweeps by Saint Thomas and Indiana-Kokomo on day two of the event. Breann June leads Concordia with 55 kills while Claudia Grepke is hitting .218. Abigail Austin has handed out 139 assists while June has recorded a team-high 13 service aces. Defensively, Kayla Peters has tallied 82 digs while Hannah Duchene has registered 11 blocks.
Scouting Georgetown (Ky.): The Tigers split a pair of matches on Saturday (Sept. 3) on day two of the Truett-McConnell Invitational. After falling in straight sets to Keiser, Georgetown snapped an eight-match season-opening losing streak with a five-set win over host Truett-McConnell. The Tigers head to Pikeville on Tuesday and Shawnee State on Thursday to open River States Conference play before visiting Lourdes. Hunter Keller leads Georgetown with 94 kills and is hitting .365 while Kayla Mantell has 141 assists. Olivia Retenwald has served up nine aces. On defense, Reese Speed has a team-high 78 digs while Keller has been involved in 29 blocks.
WHAC Openers: Lourdes is 4-7 all-time in Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference openers. The Gray Wolves opened league play in 2021 with a four-set loss at Indiana Tech. The Gray Wolves last won a conference opener in 2018, a four-set victory at home over Indiana Tech.
Quick Matches: All six of Lourdes matches this season have been decided in straight sets. Dating back to last season, the Gray Wolves have played seven straight three-set matches, and eight of their last nine have been sweeps.
Keeping the Streak Alive: Alli Plasencio has tallied double figure dig totals in all six matches thus far this season, averaging 5.06 digs per set. The fifth-year senior has tallied 10 or more digs in 27 consecutive matches dating back to last season.
Gray Wolf Debuts: Five more Gray Wolves made their collegiate debuts for Lourdes over the weekend.

Finley Coghlan played in their first matches for the Gray Wolves on Friday against Indiana East while
Jolie Sobb,
Karina Norman, and
Shelby White made their first appearances wearing the terra cotta and black on Saturday versus Great Lakes Christian.
Plasencio All Over the Record Books: Alli Plasencio moved into second place all-time in program history with 1,668 career digs. She trails school record-holder Michi Jimenez's (2012-2015) 2,143 digs by 475. Plasencio also ranks third all-time with 102 service aces, needing two more to match Stef Comte (2013-2016) for second on the career charts. Plasencio ranks third in school history having appeared in 399 sets all-time, 61 behind Comte's second place total. Plasencio is fifth with 110 matches played, four appearances shy of Angelica Dippold (2016-2019) for fourth all-time at Lourdes.
Also in the Record Books: Kylee McBride has moved into a tie for eighth all-time at Lourdes with 563 career kills, matching Ave Stout's (2015-2016) total. She needs 35 more to move into seventh place and match Katie McKenty's (2012-2014) total.
Cammy Smith has climbed into fifth place on the blocks list with 142, trailing
Michaela Eisenhauer (2019-2021) by one for fourth place.
Katey Stakolich is seventh in school history with 830 career assists, needing 62 more to match Jami Markus (2017-2018) for sixth place.
