Lourdes improved to 8-2 on the season with a 6-1 victory over Grove City on Friday afternoon inside Shadow Valley Tennis Club in non-conference action.
The Gray Wolves won the opening doubles point with victories at the top two spots in the order.
Ulises Barradas (Nueva Esparta, Venezuela/UE Colegio Madre Guadalupe) and
Victor Dieltiens (Altea, Spain/Sint Eduardus [Belgium]) scored a 6-4 win at number one doubles while
Theo Casadei (Annecy Le Vieux, France/CNED) and
Luis Guzman (Santo Domingo, D.R./Cranston East [R.I.] H.S.) posted a 6-2 win at the second spot. Grove City (4-3) won at third doubles as the Gray Wolf team of
Niladri Aich (Cooch Behar, India/Maumee Valley Country Day [Ohio] H.S.) and
Cody Keller (Oregon, Ohio/Clay H.S.) fell 6-1.
In singles play,
Ondrej Skokan (Pardubice, Czech Republic/Gymnazium Dasicka 1083) scored a 6-2, 6-1 triumph at the top of the lineup while Barradas cruised to a 6-1, 6-0 win at number four.
Josh Parish (Columbus, Ohio/Cristo Rey H.S.) picked up a 6-3, 6-1 victory at fifth singles while
Alvaro Trillo-Sanchez (Madrid, Spain/Churchill County [Nev.] H.S.) was a 6-2, 6-2 victory at the bottom of the lineup.
Lourdes split a pair of matches that went to a match tie-break. Casadei earned a 7-5, 2-6, 10-5 win at the second spot while Dieltiens fell 4-6, 6-1, 10-4 at third singles.
Lourdes concludes its stretch of five home matches in six days on Saturday afternoon as the Gray Wolves host Adrian. First serve is set for 1 p.m. at Shadow Valley.
