Final Results

For the first time in program history, Lourdes has won back-to-back matches after the Gray Wolves defeated Adrian 4-3 on Saturday afternoon inside Shadow Valley Tennis Center.
 
The Gray Wolves had to rally after Adrian (3-9) won the doubles point.  Lourdes posted a win at third doubles by Mallory Schardt (Temperance, Mich./Bedford H.S.) and Vanessa Skouroukos (Toledo, Ohio/Waite H.S.) by a 7-6 (6) margin in a tie-break.  The Bulldogs took the top two spots though to earn the point.  Bella Chela (Lusaka, Zambia/Pretoria H.S.for Girls) and Cleo Moore (Atlanta, Ga./Riverwood International H.S.) fell 6-3 at the top while Laura Ortiz (Bogota, Columbia/Gimnasio Los Pinos) and Olivia Schoppa (Gutersloh, Germany/Stadtisches Gymnasium Gutersloh) fell 7-5 at the second spot.
 
Schardt picked up a win at number one singles as she was leading 6-3, 1-2 when her opponent retired whil Moore was a 6-0, 6-3 winner at third singles.  Schoppa scored a 6-2, 6-4 victory at fourth singles while Ortiz earned a 7-6 (5), 3-6, 10-2 triumph at fifth singles.  Chela fell 7-6 (4), 2-6, 10-4 at second singles while Skouroukos retired at sixth singles trailing 7-6 (4), 1-0.
 
Lourdes (3-6) returns to the courts on March 26 as the Gray Wolves host Saint Francis (Ind.).  First serve is set for 3 p.m. inside Shadow Valley.
