Final Results
Lourdes battled at several positions on Monday as the Gray Wolves continued their homestand on Monday, falling 7-0 to the University of Northwestern Ohio at Shadow Valley Tennis Club.
 
"As the quality of competition increases, the quality of play continues to improved and I'm pleased with that," head coach 
Epifani Jones said afterwards.  "These types of matches are going to be valuable in the long term as teachable reference points."
 
Northwestern Ohio (4-5, 3-0 WHAC) opened the match winning the two doubles contests that were contested.  The Lourdes duo of 
Bella Chela (Lusaka, Zambia/Pretoria H.S. for Girls) and 
Cleo Moore (Atlanta, Ga./Riverwood International H.S.) fell 6-1 at the top of the lineup while 
Laura Ortiz (Bogota, Columbia/Gimnasio Los Pinos) and 
Olivia Schoppa (Gutersloh, Germany/Stadtisches Gymnasium Gutersloh) dropped a 6-2 decision.  Third doubles was not played as the point was decided.
 
In singles play, Chella batted at second singles, falling 6-4, 6-4.
 
"Bella is steadily finding her groove and solidifying her role on the team.  Every match she gets a little stronger in one piece and the puzzle will soon come together."
 
Mallory Schardt (Temperance, Mich./Bedford H.S.) fell 6-2, 6-0 at the top of the singles lineup while Moore dropped a 6-1, 6-2 decision at the second spot.  Schoppa lost 6-4, 6-2 at number four while Ortiz suffered a 6-1, 6-1 setback at the fifth spot.  
Winter Richburg (Toledo, Ohio/Rogers H.S.) made her spring debut in the sixth spot, falling 6-0, 6-0.
 
Lourdes (1-5, 0-2 WHAC) remains home on Tuesday morning as the Gray Wolves host Indiana Tech.  First serve is set for 11:30 a.m. at Shadow Valley.
