Lourdes fired an opening round of 352 on Friday as the Gray Wolves began play at the Shootout at Stonehedge held at Stonehedge Golf Club – North in Augusta, Mich.
The Gray Wolves are 14 shots behind Madonna and Siena Heights, who are tied for fourth with a score of 338. Northwestern Ohio leads the tournament after an opening round of 299, and holds a 29 shot advantage over Lawrence Tech.
Tina Kindler (Fort Wayne, Ind./Carroll H.S.) led the way for the Gray Wolves with a round of 81, tying for 13
th place overall.
Emma Mulder (Temperance, Mich./Bedford H.S.) added an 87 while
Jordan Bucher (North Baltimore, Ohio/North Baltimore H.S.) carding an opening round 90.
Madi Mitchell (Toledo, Ohio/Whitmer H.S.) completed the scoring by firing a 94 on the 5,868-yard, par-72 course, her best round as a Gray Wolf.
Morgan Altenbach (Lima, Ohio/Shawnee H.S.) carded a 95 to complete the lineup.
Sydney Shank (Toledo, Ohio/Whitmer H.S.) posted a 92 while playing as an individual, her collegiate best round.
Northwestern Ohio's Zoe Wuermli holds the lead at the midway point of the tournament after firing a one-under par 71, and has a four shot advantage over teammate Sharifah Binyahya.
Lourdes will conclude tournament play on Saturday morning as round two begins at 10 a.m.
