Upcoming in Gray Wolves Volleyball: With non-conference play in the rearview mirror, Lourdes returns home to the Ebeid Rec Center this week for three Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference contests.  The Gray Wolves entertain Northwestern Ohio on Wednesday evening before hosting Cornerstone on Friday night and Aquinas on Saturday afternoon.

Head Coach Greg Reitz: In his 14th season on the Lourdes bench, Greg Reitz has a 228-187 (.549) record at the helm of the Gray Wolves.  In his 16th season overall as a women's head coach, Reitz has a 248-222 (.528) career mark.  He is the only head coach in Lourdes program's history and was named WHAC Coach of the Year in 2015.

Series Notes: Lourdes holds a 13-10 series advantage over Northwestern Ohio dating back to Oct. 2, 2010.  The Gray Wolves have won the last seven meetings between the two schools after downing the Racers 3-1 in Lima, Ohio and in five sets at the Ebeid Rec Center last year.  Lourdes is 4-2 all-time against UNOH in the Ebeid Rec Center.  Cornerstone leads the all-time series against Lourdes 17-8 dating back to Oct. 8, 2011.  The Golden Eagles have won the last four meetings between the two teams after a 3-0 sweep in Grand Rapids, Mich. and a five-set triumph in the Ebeid Rec Center last year.  The series is tied 4-4 in the Ebeid Rec Center.  Aquinas is 14-9 against Lourdes in a series that began Oct. 7, 2011.  The two sides split last year's meetings, with the Saints winning in five sets in Grand Rapids and the Gray Wolves winning by the same margin in the Ebeid Rec Center.  Lourdes is 5-3 against Aquinas in the Ebeid Rec Center.

Wrapping Up Last Week: For the third straight match Lourdes went five sets on Wednesday, but the Gray Wolves came up short at Concordia (Mich.) falling 26-28, 25-21, 24-26, 25-18, 15-11.  Kylee McBride put down 29 kills and had 13 digs while Arleena Willer picked up 29 digs.  Friday the Gray Wolves fell to eighth-ranked Indiana Wesleyan 25-14, 25-16, 25-9 in Chicago.  Ella Lewis had a team-high seven kills.  Lourdes dropped a 25-22, 25-23, 19-25, 25-16 decision at Saint Xavier on Saturday afternoon.  Lewis had 11 kills while Willer had 12 digs.  Saturday night, the Gray Wolves fell 25-17, 25-9, 25-12 at Judson.  McBride had seven kills and Willer had 12 digs.

Scouting Northwestern Ohio: The Racers are coming off a straight sets loss at home against Indiana Tech last Wednesday.  Logan Thomas leads the team hitting .206 with 134 kills and 19 service aces while Savanna Reed has handed out 288 assists.  On defense, Aubree Ricketts has picked up 155 digs while Taylor Reust has 23 blocks.

Scouting Cornerstone: The Golden Eagles split a pair of matches last Saturday, defeating Indiana-South Bend in four sets before falling to Grace by the same 3-1 margin.  Emmalee Murphy leads Cornerstone with 113 kills while Kylie Barron is hitting .220.  Aubrey Lenz has handed out 347 assists while Kylie Andras has 12 aces.  Defensively, Alli Pickard has 141 digs while Barron has 46 blocks.

Scouting Aquinas: The Saints enter the week having split two matches last Saturday, falling to Saint Francis (Ill.) in five sets before defeating Mount Vernon Nazarene in a four-set contest.  Aquinas hosts Rochester (Mich.) on Wednesday and heads to Siena Heights on Friday before facing Lourdes.  Abbi Perkins has a team-high 142 kills while Madison Lawson is hitting .403.  Lydia Harper has handed out 394 assists.  Defensively, Jordy Carlyle has 188 digs while Samee Teachworth has tallied 46 blocks.

Record-Setting Night: Kylee McBride set a new Lourdes single match record with 29 kills in the WHAC opener at Concordia (Mich.) last Wednesday.  The Gray Wolves' fifth-year senior broke the mark of 24 set by Stephanie Richards on Oct. 18, 2014 and matched by Stephanie Ruffing (twice) and Allie Hale.  McBride also set a school mark with 82 attacks, 13 more than the previous mark set by McKenna Hall at Concordia (Mich.) in 2021.

Grasping the Libero Jersey: Arleena Willer grabbed the libero jersey prior to the season and has been a mainstay in the position throughout her freshman year.  She is averaging 4.36 digs per set this season, tallying double figure dig totals in five of the six matches this year.

Looking to Move Into Second All-Time: Katey Stakolich enters the week ranked third in program history with 1,417 career assists.  She needs just 34 more to match Hannah Thompson's total of 1,451 for second place all-time at Lourdes.

McBride in the Record Books: Kylee McBride enters the week ranked sixth in program history with 663 total kills.  She needs just 47 more to match Ali Mass (2010-2013) for a spot in the top-five with 710 kills.  In addition, McBride is third all-time with 2,257 career attempts.  She also ranks ninth in program history playing in 268 career sets.

Hall Also on the All-Time Charts: McKenna Hall is in seventh place on the all-time kills list with 609.  Hall is also fifth all-time with 2,039 career attempts and ranks eighth with 628 career digs.  Her 93 blocks are 10th in program history.

This and That: Dating back to the last two matches of 2022, Lourdes played five straight five-set matches prior to Indiana Wesleyan ... only Arleena Willer has played all 25 sets this season.
