SYLVANIA, Ohio (LourdesAthletics.com) – Lourdes University announces that both its men's and women's soccer teams have qualified to host the opening rounds of the Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference (WHAC) championship tournament. This marks a historic occasion, as the women's team will host a WHAC tournament game on their home field for the first time in program history. For the men's team, it will be their second time hosting, following their home tournament appearance in 2020.

The Gray Wolves' men's soccer team, with a current overall record of 8-6-3 and a WHAC record of 7-2-2, will play on Tuesday, November 5 at 6 p.m. at Wildcat Stadium, entering the tournament as the No. 3 seed and competing against No. 6 Lawrence Tech University. This appearance is the sixth in program history and their fifth consecutive qualification for the postseason. In each of their previous five appearances, the team has reached the first round.

Following the men's opener, the women's soccer team, holding the best record in program history, an overall record of 11-3-1 and a WHAC record of 8-3, will take to the field on Wednesday, November 6 at 6 p.m. at Wildcat Stadium, as the No. 4 seed, against No. 5 Cornerstone University. The women's team, in its sixth WHAC tournament appearance, reached the first round in each of its previous tournament appearances.

To qualify for the WHAC tournament, teams had to finish in the top eight of the conference standings, with the top four earning hosting rights. Lourdes University now invites students, faculty, staff, and the community to come out and support both the men's and women's soccer teams as they compete in the tournament's opening rounds.

Lourdes student, faculty, and staff will be admitted free of charge with proof of School ID, while WHAC-approved admission fees are set at $10 for adults, $7 for students and seniors, and free for children under 8, plus a small processing fee through our partnership with Hometown Ticketing.
