KANSAS CITY, Mo. (LourdesAthletics.com) -- Lourdes University is proud to announce that 27 of its student-athletes have earned the prestigious 2024 Daktronics NAIA Fall Sport Scholar-Athlete honors. This recognition highlights the academic excellence of Lourdes' student-athletes who have excelled in the classroom while competing in cross country, soccer, and volleyball.
The Daktronics NAIA Scholar-Athlete award is granted to student-athletes who maintain a minimum 3.5 cumulative GPA, appear on their sport's eligibility certificate, and have been enrolled at their institution for at least one full year. Lourdes University is pleased to have such a strong representation across multiple sports, further exemplifying the institution's commitment to both academic and athletic excellence.
The men's cross country team had four student-athletes earn this prestigious distinction: Layton Willson, a senior; Maddox Altman, Justin Altenbach, and Liam LeBlanc, all juniors.
The women's cross country team had four athletes named Daktronics Scholar-Athletes: Jenna Ramsey (sophomore), Amaya Hodges (junior), Isabella Leen (senior), and Madelynn DuBois (senior).
In men's soccer, a total of five student-athletes received the honor: seniors Alex Brock, Jannik Hofmann, Bhuvan Ramaswamy, and Eli Bride, along with junior Leandro Bisanzio Pereira.
The women's soccer team was the largest group of Lourdes' honorees with 13 student-athletes named Daktronics Scholar-Athletes: Emily Wade, a sophomore; Molly Anderson, Chloe Wittbrodt, Zoey Trout, Paige Stooksberry, Sophia Larabee, and Kendall Gregory, all juniors; seniors Laura Rincon and Emmy Rodger; sophomores Kayden Firsdon, Elise Dodson, and Samarah Arendsen; and graduate student Karlie Heilman.
The women's volleyball team had seven student-athletes earn the recognition: Kenady Cox (junior), Arleena Willer (sophomore), Jolie Sobb (junior), Lindsey Pumford (senior), Meah Przybylski, Mia Lopez, and Emma Coffey (all juniors).
Lourdes University is extremely proud of these 27 student-athletes for their hard work and commitment to excellence. Their success is a testament to the values of the institution, where academics and athletics go hand in hand.
