Final Results
Lourdes picked up its first victory of the season on Saturday afternoon, defeating Aquinas 6-1 in the Gray Wolves' spring home opener at Shadow Valley.
The win also marked the Gray Wolves' first win ever against the Saints in six tries.
Lourdes opened by sweeping the doubles point. After winning third doubles by default,
Victor Dieltiens (Altea, Spain/Sint Eduardus [Belgium]) teamed with
Joshua Parish (Columbus, Ohio/Cristo Rey H.S.) for a 6-1 triumph at the top of the lineup.
Luis Guzman (Santo Domingo, D.R./Cranston East [R.I.] H.S.) and
Jaden Coley (Columbus, Ohio/Reynoldsburg H.S.) added a 6-2 victory at second doubles.
The Gray Wolves also captured fifth and sixth singles by default.
Theo Casadei (Annecy Le Vieux, France/CNED) picked up a 6-3, 6-0 win at second singles while
Alvaro Trillo-Sanchez (Madrid, Spain/Churchill County [Nev.] H.S.) notched a 6-0, 6-0 triumph at number third. Guzman earned his second win of the day with a 6-4, 6-0 victory at fourth singles. Dieltiens fell 6-1, 6-4 at the top of the lineup.
Lourdes (1-4, 1-1) returns to the courts on Sunday morning as the Gray Wolves travel to Dayton, Ohio to face Wittenberg. The first serve is set for 10 a.m. at Five Seasons.
