Final Results 

Lourdes began its Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference schedule on Friday afternoon, dropping a 5-2 decision to the University of Northwestern Ohio inside Wildwood Tennis Club in Lima, Ohio.
 
"There's nothing like kicking off the season against an apex team," head coach Epifani Jones said afterwards.  "It just sharpens the focus.  I'm excited to see how the season unfolds."
 
Luis Guzman (Santo Domingo, D.R./Cranston East [R.I.] H.S.) picked up a straight sets win, 6-1, 6-1 at sixth singles for the Gray Wolves while Theo Casadei (Annecy Le Vieux, France/CNED) won at the fourth spot after his opponent retired after four games in the opening set.
 
Victor Dieltiens (Altea, Spain/Sint Eduardus [Belgium]) fell 6-0, 6-4 at the top of the order while Joshua Parish (Columbus, Ohio/Cristo Rey H.S.) dropped a 6-2, 6-1 match at the second spot.  Aryan Mittal (Ghaziabad, India/DPS Indirapuram) lost a 6-4, 6-0 match at number three while Alvaro Trillo-Sanchez (Madrid, Spain/Churchill County [Nev.] H.S.) battled before falling in a 7-5, 6-3 decision at the fifth spot.
 
Northwestern Ohio opened the match by sweeping the doubles point.  Dieltiens and Parish fell 6-4 at number one while Trillo-Sanchez and Casadei fell 6-0 at the second spot.  Guzman and Jaden Coley (Columbus, Ohio/Reynoldsburg H.S.) suffered a 6-1 defeat at number three doubles.
 
Lourdes (0-3, 0-1 WHAC) steps out of WHAC play next Saturday, Feb. 17, as the Gray Wolves face the College of Wooster.  The first serve is slated for 1:30 p.m. at Aspen Racquet Club in Wooster, Ohio.
