Playing its second consecutive home match on Monday afternoon, Lourdes dropped a 7-0 decision to NCAA Division II Ashland inside Shadow Valley Tennis Club.

The Eagles (11-3) opened with victories in all three doubles matches to take the first point. Lourdes number one tandem of
Bella Chela (Lusaka, Zambia/Pretoria H.S. for Girls) and
Mallory Schardt (Temperance, Mich./Bedford H.S.) played a close 7-5 decision while
Olivia Schoppa (Gutersloh, Germany/Stadtisches Gymnasium Gutersloh) and
Laura Ortiz (Bogota, Columbia/Gimnasio Los Pinos) fell 6-2 at the second spot.
Luciana Merediz (Lima, Peru/Colegio Nuestra Senora del Carmen) and
Vanessa Skouroukos (Toledo, Ohio/Waite H.S.) fell 6-1 at third doubles.
In singles action, Schardt won the opening set at number two in a tie-break before falling in a match tie-break 6-7 (5), 6-2, 10-8. Chela fell 6-2, 6-1 at the top of the order while Schoppa fell 6-2, 6-0 at number third. At fourth singles, Ortiz battled in a 6-4, 6-4 setback while Merediz lost her fifth singles match 6-0, 6-0. Skouroukos dropped a 6-1, 6-0 decision at the bottom of the order.
Lourdes (2-6) will head to Alliance, Ohio on Wednesday afternoon for a 1 p.m. match against Mount Union.
