Box Score Lourdes University women's volleyball bounced back in a big way Friday afternoon, grinding out a five-set victory over WVU Tech (25-17, 21-25, 25-13, 18-25, 15-13) at the Liz Lykowski Memorial Tournament.
Freshman Johanna Tester led the Gray Wolves with a match-high 18 kills, powering the offense at key moments, including the final set where Lourdes pulled away late. Senior Rachel Allison and junior Jolie Sobb each added 10 kills, while sophomore middle blocker Teliya Cole was efficient at the net with nine kills on just 19 swings (.368).
Setter Zoe Schuele directed the attack with 34 assists while also contributing two aces and 15 digs, recording her best all-around performance of the young season. Senior libero Emma Coffey anchored the back row with a match-high 25 digs, while Arleena Willer added 11 digs and four service aces to keep WVU Tech off balance.
At the net, Lourdes tallied 14 blocks as a team, led by Mia Karl (three solo, three assists) and Allison (two assists). Their presence up front helped swing momentum during the Gray Wolves' dominant third-set win.
With the win, Lourdes improves to 3-1 on the season and secures its first neutral-site victory. The Gray Wolves will continue tournament play on Saturday, facing IU Southeast at 10 a.m. followed by IU Northwest later in the afternoon.
