Box Score Lourdes University battled point-for-point in the opening set but ultimately dropped a straight-sets match to Indiana Southeast (28-26, 25-17, 25-21) on Saturday morning at the Liz Lykowski Memorial Tournament.
Freshman outside hitter
Johanna Tester paced the Gray Wolves' offense with 11 kills on 40 swings while also adding two service aces and three digs. Senior
Jolie Sobb contributed eight kills and seven digs, while senior
Rachel Allison came off the bench to add four kills in limited action.
Setter
Zoe Schuele spread the attack with 18 assists, three service aces, and eight digs. Senior defensive specialist
Arleena Willer anchored the back row with a team-best 18 digs while also chipping in a service ace.
At the net, sophomore
Teliya Cole had four kills and added a block assist, while freshman
Mia Karl contributed two kills, one ace, and a block assist. Despite the loss, Lourdes showed resilience in the first and third sets, where both frames were decided by four points or fewer.
The Gray Wolves now stand at 3-2 on the season and continue tournament play later this afternoon against IU Northwest.
