Lourdes had its five-match winning streak come to an end on Friday afternoon, as the Gray Wolves dropped a 5-2 match to Spring Arbor at the Jones Tennis Complex in Spring Arbor, Mich.

"Today's performances were less than stellar, but the silver lining is that everyone struggled together," head coach
Epifani Jones said afterwards. "We will reset and get back to our core objectives."

Spring Arbor (8-11) opened the match winning the doubles point at the first and third spots.Â
Theo Casadei (Annecy Le Vieux, France/CNED) and
Ondrej Skokan (Pardubice, Czech Republic/Gymnazium Dasicka 1083) teamed for the lone Gray Wolf victory, a 6-4 decision at the second spot.Â
Ulises Barradas (Nueva Esparta, Venezuela/UE Colegio Madre Guadalupe) and
Victor Dieltiens (Altea, Spain/Sint Eduardus [Belgium]) fell 6-2 at the top of the order while
Alvaro Trillo-Sanchez (Madrid, Spain/Churchill County [Nev.] H.S.) and
Josh Parish (Columbus, Cristo Rey H.S.) dropped a 6-3 decision at third doubles.

Casadei also won in singles, posting a 7-6, 6-2 triumph at the second spot while Dieltiens notched a 6-3, 4-6, 10-8 win at number three singles.

"Theo and Victor showed tremendous resolve in their matches," Jones added. Theo trailed 1-5 in the first set and Victor's match came down to the wire."

Skokan fell 6-2, 6-0 at the top of the Lourdes lineup while Parish dropped a 6-3, 6-1 match at the fourth spot. Trillo-Sanchez suffered a 6-4, 6-2 setback at number five while
Cody Keller (Oregon, Ohio/Clay H.S.) rounded out the lineup with a 7-5, 6-0 defeat.

Lourdes (11-3) returns home on Saturday for a pair of Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference matches. The Gray Wolves will face Cornerstone at 4 p.m. and Lawrence Tech at 6:30 p.m. at Shadow Valley.
